Mom's Basement

This is such a great little bar. My friends and I absolutely love it. It's got a really cool vibe. I love how cozy and inviting the places. They have excellent drinks and the staff are wonderful. I love the photo booth, pinball Machines, and decorations surrounding the entire bar. You need to check out this place.

Fun little place that really does remind you of every basement at a friend's house where you ever threw a party and drank underage when you were a teenager. Line for the bathroom is too long, because there's only one that everyone has to share. The outdoor area is great! The King Diamond sticker that you'll never notice if you aren't paying attention earned it an extra star.

Savannah, or whatever her name is, has the WORST customer service. Ever. She picks and chooses who she wants to be nice to. If you intimidate her in any way, she’ll avoid you and be rude to you all night. The amount of cussing and lies she spewed was disgusting. Do not work in an industry where you have to take care of other people and serve others if you’re going to let your insecurity and jealousy get the best of you. I have yet to come across such a horrible, rude, nasty bartender until tonight. 0/10 would recommend. She will drive business away and it’s a shame to say because it’s such a chill establishment to be in. The constant yelling about getting out because you’re “closing” and the profanity and unprofessionalism that we had to endure tonight was off putting and just simply pathetic. She is a pathetic excuse of a human being and I wouldn’t wish her upon my worst enemies. Get better staff and treat paying customers with some respect instead of yelling at them and spewing lies. This was a DISGUSTINGLY horrid visit. There was absolutely no excuse for her to act the way she did the ENTIRE night to me and whoever was with me at the time. Not one time was I or anyone rude to her. We smiled and were polite all night to this girl even after being ignored at the bar until she had absolutely no choice to cater to me. Be better and get better staff. Hire people who are friendly and want to be there for everyone and do their job. Stop hiring rude bartenders who act like they hate their life and hate everyone and anything that looks at them. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

I went to Mom's Basement for the first time this weekend and had a blast. The bar was putting on an event called danceteria which featured a DJ playing 80's, new wave, and post punk tunes. DJ put on some greats songs and kept the crowd dancing. Bartenders were quick and didn't keep anyone waiting for too long. The bar's décor was also on point. Definitely recommend this place if you're looking to explore BHM nightlife.

Clean, quaint little joint. I was a little confused by the bartender telling me they don’t do drinks on ice this last Sunday. After working in the industry for years and seeing all the ingredients for an “ice cocktail” I cracked up a bit. Hate to see wordle/Facebook trump customers that tip 30% + but you can’t let a lazy employee run you off from a decent bar. Hopefully he’ll start putting his bar top ahead of the phone and do his job.

I used to rate this place 5 stars but what place doesn’t allow their customers to go to the restroom after closing out their tabs? Not sure if Savannah was drunk but I’ve never been treated so rudely and screamed at like this ANYWHERE. I get she wanted us out so she could continue drinking but nah that was not okay. She’s a lawsuit just waiting to happen.
