Clean, fast, freshly cooked and tons of flat-screen TV's for sports watching! If your craving Mexican food during a game. Go here! If you're looking for fancy, not so much...

It is one of those places were the facility is old and they haven't repainted anything so it has that "is this place safe to eat?" kind of vibe to it. Now, having said that, I found no evidence of anything being dirty, it is just old. The salsa is mild and the chips are lighter and less heavy tasting than most Mexican places. Food tasted good, service was good, TV's everywhere. So in short, a typical Mexican restaurant, just in an older building than typical 280 people are used to (including me).

Been coming here since 1992. Probably around 400 to 500 visits under my belt. Might I remind you that was 26 years ago. This place has always been great. A lot of the staff has even been there since 1992. That tells you something right there. I recommend getting #41, the spicy burrito. EDIT: Sadly Ixtapa has closed down. RIP Ixtapa. You were great.

After being seated, it was at least 20 minutes before they brought out chips and took our order. They did quickly bring the food. No wonder though, it tasted like they had just opened up cans from the Mexican section of Winn-Dixie and dumped them on the plate. Wife had ordered a margarita. They charged $8.50 for a house margarita that tasted like it was straight store bought margarita mix with no tequila in it. Wife left 3/4 of it sitting on the table. When we checked out, the cashier asked us if everything was ok. The only thing I mentioned was that the margarita was terrible. She said, "sorry" and that was the end of that. No offer to take it off the bill or anything. Well, I'm sorry too. Won't be going back and highly recommend that no one else goes there either.

Wow. This was the worst mexican food I’ve ever had. The salsa taste like store bought picante sauce. Some of the food was cold. I didn’t know you
Could get rice and beans sooo wrong. And the frozen margaritas were a joke. I’m not really sure what exactly it was but it was no margarita. All the employees sit in the back at the tables and watch tv. Now I know. When you pull up in the parking lot and there are no cars..... that’s the only sign you need.

We were regulars at Mexicali (another restaurant owned by same owner) and started eating at Ixtapa after that closed. Affordable, great tasting food and Margaritas. The place could use some deep cleaning and fresh paint....

Simple but very good Mexican food. Edit 10/2018. Currently closed for renovation, to reopen as 5 Amigos according to the signs on the door. Signs also say menu to stay the same, so I hold out hope 5 Amigos won't disappoint Ixtapa regulars.

Some of the best Mexican food we have had. We had family from three states with us and everyone was pleased. The service was also amazing. This might be one of our new meeting places.
