This review is based on our lunch experience! We were the early birds and one of the first customers when it opened. Our service was prompt and courteous. The sweet and spicy calamari arrived swiftly and tasted really good. Rest of our food was great as well. Although shrimp tacos could have carried a bit more flavor and were leaning towards bland. Decor and seating makes it a great place for dinner I am guessing with big bar taking central location, also fuzzy bubbles is a must try! Earns top marks in presentation.

The inside of 220 Merrill is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Very picture worthy. The prices are on the high end. But the experience is great. The drinks are very pretty. I had the Short ribs and it was delicious and tender. The truffle fries were very tasty with the special made sauce (definitely a shareable appetizer). I went for dinner. I plan to go back for brunch and lunch. The menus are totally different. I love that they offer Valet.

Loved this place in Birmingham , so big from the inside. Beautiful lounge and bar. They have a dedicated area for small birthday parties. We were 4 ppl and an infant. My husband tried the fillet and it was really good. I went with the kocher (Halal) chicken hamburger ( came not very well done , I was still feeling the raw chicken and when I called the waiter he took the burger itself and fixed it ) they should have brought another one .. that’s what usually other restaurants do ( they are not supposed to touch my food) I couldn’t eat it anymore but ordered a salad that came so good. Overall food and place are good .

Of course, you have to visit The most popular restaurant in Birmingham! The hostess and manager were the most accommodating, even though we showed up w/o reservations..( we really wanted to get here, but booked the wrong restaurant) The menu is full of options: from pizza to the most exquisite steaks for $200+ w optional lobster tails as and on. The drinks and desserts are jaw dropping. My favorite was appetizer w fresh mouthwatering mozzarella. But then came disappointment. The waiter removed appetizers instead of dirty dishes, while I was busy making pictures. The steak was medium instead of medium rare . He tried to to convince me that it’s medium rare, then w quite hesitation suggested replacement. Anyhow, I was disappointed w feeling being rushed. It’s not a fast food place. It’s a prime location and I wanted to enjoy it w my family. PS Plastic chairs on the patio give a cheap vibe to a fancy restaurant.

This is one of the restaurants I have on my birthday weekend list for this year. ☺️ The food was great, appetizers are very good. The environment is chic and casual. The most amazing thing are the dessert’s, you have to try that, not for the flavor but for the size. If you love posting great pictures on social media, you will be taking great ones with those amazing sweets, even if you can’t finished them. 😆 I will definitely be back and try the bar downstairs.
