Mad Hatter

We decided to visit the Mad Hatter even though many of the reviews were poor. I am so glad that we did. I will agree the place could use some updating but it was still nice. It is eccentric it is not your typical fancy high tea. The food was delicious and that it most important for me. The tea was bagged but the Teavanna brand and quite good. The scones were warm and some of the best I've had. The sandwiches were surprisingly fantastic. Really nice smoked salmon. Plus it is not as pricey as most high tea. Our server was super sweet as well. It was not the typical high tea but we had a very nice time.

Cute place and fairly small. Fantastic service. Our food was tasty but could've been warmer. They are serving 'tea parties' again but make sure you make a reservation. We called ahead and were told we didn't need reservations for our tea party but once we got there we discovered we were misinformed on the phone. It's located in downtown Birmingham so you can stroll the street and browse other stores after your meal.

Our experience was amazing! Had a party of 12 for my sisters birthday. Atmosphere is amazing we loved the theme of Alice in wonderland we hear renovations are coming soon and sure hope it stays as is with the Mad Hatter theme that was out sole reason for choosing this place! Our server "Bow Tie" was nothing short of amazing himself. He is definitely meant to do the job he does and it shows he loves what he does. Will definitely be returning!
