Had a lovely dinner for a special occasion, was looking for a good meal and they didn’t disappoint. I can’t vouch for the authenticity as I’m not well versed in the cuisine of the continent but overall it was delicious, and similar to other dishes I’ve tried before. I had the goat curry which was great and the ambience of the place really sold the night. Will gladly be coming again to try other items on the menu. Also cheers to Jay for tending to us and making the experience as a whole great.

Africana definitely delivered with most of the dishes that were ordered which were aesthetically pleasing on the eye. A variety of items were ordered: Jammin Jambalaya (was one of the best) Just Kebabin (not as kicking as expected) Island fish and chips (definitely had a pleasant twist), Thic Chick (a winner with the children) to name a few. Portion sizes differ so might be worth enquiring about size of dishes. Interior decor at its best, the atmosphere was vibrant which was topped with superb customer service. A tad on the pricey side but definitely worth a treat. A recommendation from me to you.

Start to finish I couldn't have asked for more. Atmosphere was cosy and staff was very friendly. Food was well presented and also tasted amazing. Great place for big families as well as duos. Special thanks to our waiters for the evening Daniaal and Tash who went out their way to make sure everyone was happy and content.

First time trying this place. Was putting it off from going here because I thought I wouldn't like it since I'm a fussy eater 😂 We got the grilled chicken and the fish and chips. Me and my husband enjoyed what we ordered. The fish and chips didn't taste like basic chip shop ones. The flavour of it is completely different. Also, the passion fruit mocktail was nice too. Would recommend this place!!

Amazing restaurant with the best service, our Waitor Tash was particularly good. He had great knowledge, was extremely personable and made us laugh. We got the Ethiopian platter with extra sides of mac and cheese, plantain and halloumi fries. 10/10!!!!! Would recommend if you’re in the area, great for solo meals, couples and groups. Xxx

Had a lovely meal with plenty of variety. The puff pastry was nice when dipped in their house chilli sauce as a starter. The meat platter was plenty of food for 3-4 people and the Mac n cheese was fresh, not a microwave job like you find in many other places! The steak was cooked a little more well done than requested and the waiter kindly offered several times to change it but we told him not to worry as it was still nice and I’d rather not waste food. All the food was hot and tasty with different marinades and condiments. The Afrikana house marinade was the best pick of the bunch. Service was great and genuinely friendly from every staff member who regularly checked in to make sure we were ok and that the food was fine, and it was genuine care rather than asking as a formality. A nice night all round, thank you.

1st time experience for Couple, never tried any of the restaurants up this end of Ladypool Road - only because of the silly riff raff of the drug fueled youth that hang about here. Can I say, this restaurant is in the wrong location - but if it works for the owners, then great. From the moment of walking in on a Thursday night, it was quiet, suoerb ambient setting and I was impressed by Tash's acknowledgement of turning down the music, he had no issue and kindly obliged without fuss. From first impressions, is it safe to say it has a family based environment from customers, which I liked, no shouting from customers (this is a put off for me personally depending on what type of eating out your intentions are) Both Tash and Summaya gave excellent customer service, extremely polite and willing at all moments of our 1st time experience. Food was delicious and piping hot 10/10, will we come back yes, most certainly. I would be curious if they can get food and customer service quality during peak periods as on our visit it was not busy (but we had no complaints), we just wanted an evening out when the food would hit the spot and it did. Established was clean - I was impressed with the table space for 2 people to dine in, with the addition of large spacious chairs - it was a comfortable seating during eating. Relaxed atmosphere. This place is great for family get togethers, ok parking would be issue for some who struggle to walk long distance, but it would be worth it, and if you can put up with the no-good youth that loiter the streets, then this is a place to visit. Look forward to returning to this place in the near future.

Amazing flavours and a wide yet cohesive variety on the menu, this place is definitely becoming a favourite. I personally love the island fish & chips. The portion sizes are perfect, the wait is never too long, and the service is great. Very accommodating for large groups as well. Only thing I have to complain about is the size of the mocktails - they're tiny, overpriced and mostly ice so stay away from those! But other than that it's a great experience.
