Smash And Smoke

A drive-by in the back end of Digbeth (City Centre) led to finding this new place in a very remote location. No dining in, as there is no seating. However, it's an open plan restaurant, kitchen in full view and immense space. Greeted by a young kid - with uniform and very welcoming - goes for all staff and the Chéf. The menu, logo, interior decor is incredible with a lot of investment. Initially, spoilt for choice as they do starters, burgers with sides and an array of drinks. However, there was a classic pizza oven with an Italian chef. I was stunned to see him making authentic Italian pizza 🍕 with fresh tomato sauce, basil and extra virgin olive oil. On my next visit, I will try the Margherita as it looked amazing. We ordered the Charcoal Bun, Chicken (Fried) Burger 🍔 with fat steak cut chips. The Chéf very kindly altered the marinade for the fried chicken as I prefer it spicy. Also, received a Garlic Bread pizza on the house with compliments. The burger, sides and drinks were amazing and stupendous quality. Another visit on the cards to really test the menu.

This is my first time writing a food review. The experience was excellent. The first thing that stood out when we got there is hygiene and cleanliness. We ordered a few meals to try as we really like this type of food. The food looked really good and appealing and the taste was amazing. The kids also loved their meals. It was really good that I wanted to go back the following day. Great food. Would recommend.

We ate here for the first time, and it was delicious! Really really enjoyed the food. It’s very different to the typical foods you can get. We tried their pizza, chicken wings, pulled beef burger, a smashed burger, hot dog, and the star of the show, the brisket... yes we were greedy! but sooo worth it. And not to mention the amazing dips. I can’t wait to go back, I’m going to struggle to eat anywhere else in Birmingham after trying this little gem! The staff were also very friendly, and accommodating. A great place!

was craving brisket but couldn't be asked to go through the trouble of cooking it, so was just browsing takeaways and came across this place, I had my doubts as I never heard of this place so I decided to drive to the shop to check it out myself, the staff are super friendly, the place was clean, for the price the food was great. The brisket was fresh, moist and good quality, a solid 7-8 out of ten. Couldn't really taste the smokiness I'm used to in a brisket and could of done with a bit more seasoning if I'm being completely honest but still for £10-15 you wont get a better meal in Birmingham, the sides were on point, that oil/herb/paprika dip was fire. I was left in food coma by the time I finished. Its good to see likeminded people out there who care about food. Will be returning next time I have a meat craving.
