Never knew of this "local", circumstances were my cause to visit after 25 minute walk, what a "friendly" bunch!! Laughing /joking, lady behind the bar was sooo helpful to me, helping me charge my phone and get me on pub Internet, this local guy"offered me slices of pizza"and bought me a shot!! I was only there for 2 hours max, but I'd like to say what a wonderful pub it was

I found this little pub by chance, I popped in for a quick couple and was pleasantly surprised. A lovely pint good selection on very friendly the home made pizzas that people were ordering looked amazing, I'm definitely going to try one when im next in the area,tv with sports and a pool table I can't wait to go back.

Absolutely beautiful pub, lovley to have a sit down and have a pint and a hot freshly made pizza after a walk from the forest .The pizzas are really lovley. The pub has polite friendly atmosphere lovley to sit outside and watch the world go by,cant wait to go back for another delicious pizza;;0)

Fantastic local pub. Friendly locals, Football, darts, pool and awesome pizzas! Morgan and Taylor made our night very special. They are so welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We will definitely visit again.

Popped in for a couple of pints and was given a nice welcome. The lovely lady behind the bar said this a a kind of spit and sawdust pub but found everyone to be nice: they have a small pizza Owen for food and real ale. Overall nice pub

I am from Malta and had to stay for the night near Stansted airport. In the evening I found this nice bar Four Ashes in Takeley. Nice beers on tap!!

Five stars given for not pretending to be somethings its not. Want a proper pub that sells fresh pizza if your hungry. Enjoy the pool table, darts or sport on the telly. Has a beer garden and friendly staff, not a local just visiting my dad but made to feel welcome when we entered, kids welcome too.
