So here's a hidden gem that's been hiding in plain sight. From the outside it looks like any other takeaway in Bolton town centre, however had a hankering for Mexican cuisine so decided to try it and walked over not sure what to expect.
Inside the staff weren't very talkative but informed us there were no physical menus, we sit at a table (there's about 4) scan the qr code and can order on there. The girl did tell us any questions just ask.
It took an age and the Web page was painfully slow, but eventually we'd ordered birria and a quesedilla dish. Also a couple of authentic Mexican sodas, pineapple and a nicely balanced lime.
When the plates arrived they looked a little small and I thought I'd still be hungry afterwards. I was wrong. I couldn't finish it, heavenly though it was. Wonderfully fresh and flavourful, the cream, the salsa, the guac - fantastic. The birria my wife had was outstanding.
Couple of drinks two plates and a sharer of tortilla chips and salsa came in at just under £30. It sounds steep, the surroundings a little non descript and lifeless, but the food, the food!!! Food alone would be 5 stars, let down only by the functional and slightly stark atmosphere. Definitely recommend.
staff there are really nice and helpful they make the food quick too
food is really tasty they have a good variety of vegan and veggie options
my only complaint is that the prices are extremely high compared to other Mexican places if they reduced prices significantly i would definitely go most likely everyday as i am a student and can’t afford to go out everyday. highly recommend if prices weren’t so high.
One of the best Mexicans I have ever had . I had to wait longer than I anticipated but it was well worth the wait. You can taste the quality of each and every ingredients and altogether you can't fault anything about the food. 5 star food experience in my humble opinion. Keep up the good work
the ladies at don tacos bolton are lovely, great customer service. the food itself was fresh, i got the 4 birria tacos, good portion for the price in my opinion! very quick service as well didn’t need to wait long. will be returning :)
Amazing beef birria, I've come back twice in the space of a week!
The perfect balance of cheese and slow cooked beef in the perfectly crisp corn tortilla and pair that with the beautiful consome, wow.
Also got the chipotle wings and chipotle chops. Lovely sauce, but would just pick one rather than both.
Mexican cola was also very nice, different to your usual coke, but again very nice to try.
The staff were also very welcoming and friendly.
We really wanted to try Birria Tacos yesterday and this place seemed the option although nearly a half an hour drive away! It was 100000% worth it so much so that we went back again for more today! The portion sizes are great with the option to increase the portion if you're hungrier! The food was amazing, fresh and clearly cooked with a lot of passion! Staff are lovely and friendly and we will deffo be back again for our third visit!

Went with the four meat taco's.
Lots of flavour, not that spicy, just right for an introduction to the flavours.
Ordered at the counter (which might be different on a very busy night) and the food was served quickly.
The only down side was we didnt know which meat was which as the beef and lamb look very similar, so would be nice when served to be told which is which.
The jarrito's (mexican brand soft drinks) at £3:50 is similar in price to alot of places.
Overall, happy with it, will come back and step up the chilli flavours.

The Beef Birria Tacos were just divine, with tender meat with cheese that just pulled and apart, dip in their unique Birria sauce for that ultimate satisfaction
Great little place to introduce someone to this cuisine
Lamb chops and chicken wings are amazing. Birria tacos delicious and the staff are very helpful. Definitely coming again.
