Whilst Visiting friends in Allington I was taken to this pub/restaurant for lunch. I can honestly say it was the best Sunday lunch I have tasted in the last five years. Staff were very friendly and exceptionally helpful. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area

From the decor to the food and very friendly staff who were just the right amount of attentive. I enjoyed the ambiance especially the tudor beams. The food was divine and decent portions... Certainly looking forward to going back again 😊

Fabulous birthday meal for a friend - place welcoming and staff attentive. Food was excellent. Music just enough in the background - bit like being in a grand spa town with the piano playing in the corner!

Really good food and service. Not too expensive. The flavours and attention to detail in each course lifted the menu above the norm at this price. For example: we had a bread and olives starter. The bread was good quality and lightly toasted, and the olives had a lovely flavour.
There was nothing bland in the entire meal. We enjoyed all of it.

Superb food. Had the wild mushroom lasagne which was delicious and banana and caramel brioche for desert. Excellent food and the staff we're attentive and friendly. Thoroughly recommend.

My wife's birthday treat!! No point drivelling on? it was BRILLIANT
we had three courses, and all deserved 6 stars! We have never been made so welcome or spoilt!!! by Kerry, Paul and the lovely attentive waitresses. it will become a regular visit for all special occasions.

Having been here twice for family birthdays this place never faults to impress. The lovely decor and charm of the historic building with new up to date touches. The bar area was great as a drink reception. The venue would work great for small events. The service from the staff is exceptional, nothing is too much trouble and very polite. The menu is well balanced and well priced. Food is fanatic, generous portion sizes and good selection. Great bar with premium products on offer and a great Gin selection. A solid 5 stars.

I went to the thatch for a Christmas dinner with my Camera club so there was 30 of us in total on 2 tables, the thatch was very warm and inviting on arrival with a nice atmosphere. We were served quickly at the bar and soon shown to our tables which were set very nicely and spotlessly clean tableware and linen. The meal was served in good time with plenty of staff on hand so no one was left waiting as can sometimes happens with large groups but the service was excellent and the staff very helpful and polite, the food was of a very good standard and portions were generous and was served piping hot. Tables were cleared quickly between courses and no one had to hurry to finish and coffee and mince pies to finish of a lovely evening. I will definitely return to the thatch for the service and ambiance are second to none. 5*****.

Very comfortable dining experience. Lovely surroundings and excellent service. The menu was varied and there were a few vegetarian options, the waitress also added that the chef can rustle up other options if required. The and food was delicious. We had lunch, so not aware of the evening arrangements, but I did see a small bar tastefully decorated and extra seating in a pretty conservatory. This was our second visit, we will return.
