A great Toby to visit. Though be aware is does not open until 9am and not alot of parking.
We went in for breakfast. Staff at the bar were friendly and helpful. Plenty of seating. The inside has just been refurbished and looks clean, tidy, and homely.
The food was fresh and plenty of choice.

Went for breakfast, my first time, was lovely. However when we came in, we we're told to pay at the bar then go sit down. That was all good but I didn't know what beverages were available/cost etc. I ordered a flat white as I felt on the spot, but upon going and getting my breakfast I saw there was refillable coffee. Which I'd of known of this before I got my flat white. Maybe a small breakfast drinks menu on the bar might be a fair suggestion, I'll know for next time but it really irked me as filter coffee is always my preference over a machine made one.

Popped in with some friends for the carvery. The front near the bar is dog friendly which was great for my friend's huge Caucasian Shepherd dog. The staff were super friendly and nice and the food was wholesome and hearty.

A friend brought me here to try the place. It's very good, very meat-and-potatoes type place with inoffensive, home cooking flavors. It reminds me of a couple restaurants from back home in the states, like Cracker Barrel.

Nice, fresh and clean after a refurbishment.
Good food as always, at a fair price. Drinks expensive, which is a shame. Delightful staff who provide great service.

New decor has really brightened up the venue. Servers were very helpful and made us feel welcome.

Ordered for 4 adults and 1 child from deliveroo. only half the order came and when we rung Northbourne toby carvery we were greated with Emma who helped us with the order promptly without hesitation. She went above and beyond for us and has truly saved mothers day! Thank you Emma and all envolved for being so professional but especially Emma!!

We were a small group of 7 for a colleagues 50th birthday. Our waitress Sue was fab throughout our evening, very attentive despite being very busy. Great humour and even gave banter back with us. Food was good too, I opted for the Yorkshire pud wrap with ham and mustard, chef was a bit heavy handed with mustard...otherwise a nice change from a roast.

Very well priced. Good food, standard throughout the chain. Recently refurbished, light and spacious.

We visited this branch on August Bank holiday Sunday 2023 and we had a brilliant server called Sue. She made us feel extremely welcome, she was very attentive and went out of the way to interact with our children. At the end of the meal all three of our children approached her to say thank you and gave her a hug. They talked about her continously the following day. She is a real credit to the restaurant.

The selection of meats and veg is just delicious, for the last few times I’ve eaten a roast dinner at the Poole Toby carvery (Disappointed) there hasn’t been any mashed potato so was very happy to find that you still serve mash at the northbourne site, this site is now my go too as it’s got a better atmosphere and friendlier staff

As being one of the Toby carvery near me it had excellent food choices throughout the day and with delicious 😋 roast for the night. Service usually is very quick and very helpful. Atmosphere I gave a 3 because it needs a clean up, new seating and carpet is required if they want it to look good. Apart from that it's a great restaurant to eat at.

Great food at a reasonable price. Plenty of choice from the 4 meats avaliable and a large choice of vegetables from the carvery area, they also have a separate menu for side dishes, sharing platters, vegaterian choices too.
Always best to phone to book a table especially on a Sunday as it gets very busy.
You don't have to go there to eat you can simply enjoy a drink in their pleasant bar area.
Great for families, couples or by yourself.
Worth a visit so pop on in.

I took my mum for lunch recently and the newly refurbished Toby is wonderful! Looks great, food was excellent, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

New to the UK Ihad my first roast carvery. I was ushered to a table, ordered a drink and asked do I know how carvery works, I said no. Took me up to serving table introduced me to the chef slicing the roasts. He told me I could have 4 meats and as much vegetables as I want and refill. The meal was great, dinning area was busy and I enjoyed your hospitality, and your carvery. Will be back with my housemates all from South Africa.Regards Darryl Gordon

I’ve been to many Toby Carveries over the years with varying degrees of satisfaction, but this one is busy with good reason - it's excellent! Well, it was this lunch, the vegetables were mostly cooked al dente with garlic mash and cheesy spinach, and the meat was succulent, even the apple gravy was well flavoured.
Really good value and service was good considering the place was jam packed. BUT my party of 8 did not have to wait, no waiting time, are booked table was ready on time,
Our drinks took less then five minutes and our Sunday roast was the best, I feel it is the best Toby along the south coast, and the host Keith and Sarah are 100% the best hosts.

Although it was a busy Sunday evening we got a table within 10 mins and oncecdrinks orders were placed only queued for 5 mins to be served our meal. The beef was melt in the mouth and the vegetables you were spoilt for choice. Gravy was empty but refilled immediately.
Considering it was a peak period we never got the impression of being rushed at any time and as always the staff were friendly and efficient.....particularly Keith our table waiter. I will certainly be returning soon.

Lovely meat so tender and a good selection of vegetables only downside is you’ve stopped putting sauce in bottom of sundae dish before the ice cream now only drizzled on top other wise excellent as usual
Alison Jones
The staff and service is amazing, food great too! Amazing quiz every 3 weeks, would recommend!
Sandra Macfarlane
Roast potatoes overdone, carrots dry, meat was fine, mashed potato although nice could have been warmer as indeed could all the food. Not as good as Fleetsbridge or the Roeshott, probably won't return.
Mandy Bond
Have been a few times & its always been fab. Despite some of the party being a bit late, there was quite a few of us & it was very busy, it that didn't stop staff & food from being great!
Jackie Holmes
The food was good and the staff really nice but the place was rammed and think they could of done with a few more staff members but otherwise a pleasant visit
Janet Susan Edwards

Zoe Jackson

I used to love carvery but when I turned veggie we didn't go. But I now know I can. It's great I get a very large square plate which I counted had 2 different potatoes and 7 different veg. Will return.
Tina Letch
Had to wait for a table that I had booked....I then had to ask when would we be seated,we were given a table that someone else was waiting for....the food was cold my friend had to ask if hers could be put into the microwave and even then it came back cold, the waitress had just walked in one door and back out,she was asked again to warm the food up.....there was no gravy we had to wait for that to come,so you could pretty much bet you dollar we won't be coming back or recommending you Carvery to anyone.
Nikki Bartlett
Love a good carvery, may have to wait sometimes but always well worth it. Good food and good service at a very good price x
Jo Cooper
Definitely recommend, breakfast was lovely & reasonable price. I'll be back soon x
Gareth Edwards
I had to ask the chef for a white plate
The ones they were serving food on yesterday were very old and desperately need upgrading
Johnny Hill
Staff and value for money great as always although found quality of the vegetables and road goes very poor. It may be due to timing ( around 5pm ) but seemed like they had been out all afternoon, dry, unseasoned and over cooked. This is my first poor experience at Toby so will give it a go again !
