There are two main reasons why this little gem of a place is an absolute MUST visit, when you are in North Devon. The food is excellent - quality ingredients, well presented and delicious. You could be in Paris or Bordeaux! The owners are delightful. He is Chef, she is front-of-house. The welcome and hospitality are second to none and they are happy to do things just as you like. Nothing seems too much trouble. Two of us ate and drank handsomely for less than £100. In London the same (if you can get it), would be double. Enjoy!
Best meal we've had in a long time. The standard of both food and service was excellent. We shared frogs legs to start and the chef comes out to serve them.
It's run by a lovely French couple who are genuinely interested in you. The whole meal was fantastic, 1 starter, 2 mains, 2 desserts and a bottle of wine came to a little over £80. You must go, I've never tasted French food like it.
Simply THE BEST food experience in North Devon. If not the whole county. To say authentic would be a massive understatement. As soon as you walk through the door, you feel like you're in France. Run and owned by a charming and humerous French couple. Many of the dishes are prepared with ingredients freshly supplied from France. It goes without saying, that like the whole experience, the wine is excellent too.
Le Bistro Du Coin has a lovely bustling cheery atmosphere. Jacques' food is spectacularly divine and Beatrice is a witty, warm, delightful front of house. It is like a mini holiday in France dining here. Be sure to book ahead, it's usually fully booked at short notice for good reason. Best food for miles around. You won't be disappointed.
You know when you've given other restaurants 5 stars, then you finally come to a different restaurant and realise that this is what 5 stars really is and everywhere else are just going through the motions? This is what Le Bistro du Coin is.

The food is unbelievably good, so many amazing options on the menu, all delicious.
And the service is spot on - Not too posh, but attentive and creative - the chef will come out and serve some dishes straight from the pan!
Highly recommend, try to book in advance, when we visited (a Wednesday at the end of March) it was full.
What an unexpected find in Braunton. An excellent meal with excellent wine. An unassuming place with lovely hosts and the food was absolutely excellent. The Foie Gras was melt in your mouth and the crab mouse was a real gem. Burgundy Snails are on offer for starters for a real indulgence. The mains of steak and lamb were cooked to perfection and delicious. If you cant decide on desert you have the option of a plate of 5 which includes all but two of the desert options. The cheese selection was as you would expect and excellent. As if it wasn't good enough the food is very reasonable, we expected to pay more for the quality of what we received. Definitely worth a visit
We love this restaurant. Its our favourite place for a special meal. Amazing atmosphere and food every time and the added bonus of Beatrice and Jacques looking after you and making you smile.. 10/10
Probably the best food in all of North Devon! A pure bubble of French style, cuisine and excellence. Truly extraordinary and run by two funny and wonderful French people bringing over the very best of France.
Stoped for coffee today, a wonderful experience though we were back in Paris. All the customers loved the owner and appeared to make the cafe a second home. The coffee was great, experience wonderful and I would like highly recommend this cafe to any visiting the village.
