What can I say other than absolutely amazing! Couldn’t decide so tried multiple appetizers. Crab fries, shrimp in a bag, shrimp & grits and fried green tomatoes with shrimp. All the sauces were so delicious. Wish I could’ve tried more! Definitely will return.

This restaurant is fantastic. The service, food and drink menu are top notch. We stayed in a hotel across the street so the first night it was just a matter of convenience. But it was so good. We actually finished all of our tourism in downtown then drove back for a late dinner the next night. That says something that it stood out enough to repeat on a vacation weekend.

We had a good experience at 55 South! Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. The food was good - heavier, southern/New Orleans style stuff. They do have some salads and what not but definitely more of a Southern place. The wings were good and shrimp and grits was flavorful.

Great experience. The deviled eggs appetizer was great! We also got a "pick two" kids meal (bacon and fruit cup). That is an excellent idea for kids meals!

Decent meal! Was it the best?... no... was it the worst?... far from it. The oysters had great flavor, the drinks were average, and the shrimp and grits were okay. The banana bread pudding was good, beignets, meh. Decent meal but I wouldn't say it meets the hype that I read about it.

I love a good Red Beans and Rice and this was an excellent Red Beans and Rice. The Catfish, was piping hot and was exactly the the dish needed for a good pairing. Some wouldn’t think this being a good dish, but those folks and go pound salt. If you know you know. Chooo chooo, all aboard, next stop Flavortown, TN.

We went originally because we were given a $25 gift card. I forgot to take a picture of our appetizer, Garlic Parmesean Crab Fries. What a splurge! Our pictured entrees were: Chicken and Sausage Jambalaya and Blackened Mahi Mahi fish Tacos. The food was a treat. I didn't realize until we were eating that they had been on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. It was an enjoyable time.
