Rubio's

Disappointing and false advertising when visiting this store to redeem a coupon that was recently received in the mail. Register employee went to process the order with a $2 discount noted on the mailed coupon only to find out that "discount" is "reflected" on the receipt (see pic) but the total price is not actually discounted! I paid full price for my order without receiving the $2 off! My advice to management would be to ensure your system is actually processing discount codes BEFORE they are mailed to the general public. Not impressed and will think hard next time when deciding to patronize this particular establishment....

Rubio's is absolutely my favorite Fresh Mex restaurant and this location did exceptionally well meeting my dietary needs and making delicious food quickly. The location is very clean and the staff are very friendly. I love that I can get vanilla coke here and the salsa bar is great! Grilled gourmet shrimp tacos are my favorite! And the lobster is sooo good when they have it, seasonally.

This place is going downhill. I’ve tried to give them the benefit of the doubt as I used to be a big Rubio’s fan, but no such luck. Sooooo slow, every time I’ve been here. Today, I was warned by an employee that my order would take at least 25 minutes to process, so we pondered for a minute, and then left. I agree with what other say, I could have gotten this food faster at a sit down restaurant, for about the same price, and it probably would have tasted better or had more options at least. I give up...

I recently discovered Rubio’s in San Diego and I was super excited to discover one in Brentwood upon recently moving here! And as much as I love Rubio’s, I might just have to keep going to a different location. I’ve eaten here 3 times and I’m sorry to say the 3rd time was the last time. My order was messed up each time-which I find hilarious considering there’s a sign above the register that makes some sort of promise about getting your order right every time, my fried fish tacos were literally just over fried batter-no fish...did it disintegrate from over cooking? No idea! I asked to sub in chips for my beans and they literally gave me 7 chips-I counted. That’s not even a full serving of tortilla chips!! On top of that, the last time I was there, the staff were bickering amongst each other-super uncomfortable! As much as I love living near a Rubio’s and would legit come here weekly, this location is bad enough to keep me away. *UPDATE!! Been here recently twice - once in afternoon (which I’d never done before) and then again on a Friday night. Literally a complete 180 of what I went through before regarding service and quality! I know I said I couldn’t go to this location again, but I can’t resist those Fish taco deals on Tuesday’s and Friday’s and since it was around the holidays, I gotta give them another shot, yeah? And so glad I did. I don’t think it’s a fluke due to the holiday season, I noticed new employees and I’m just over the moon. Can’t wait to go back again if I keep getting this type of service!

First time here, bad service. I ordered two simple fish tacos and took my number to my table. After waiting 32 minutes (I counted), and seeing folks that came in after me getting served, I asked about my order. The girl brought out my tacos and said "they just finished making them". They were not warm so they had obviously been sitting somewhere for a while, forgotten. I was so hungry I wolfed them down and left. If I was less non-confrontational I would have asked for my money back and went somewhere else.

Came to this restaurant to try something different. BIG MISTAKE!! The flavor was ehhhh!!!! Got the Cilantro Lime bowl and it was just ok. The quality of the food was just ok. The employees don't respond when you speak with them. The girl at the register was not too friendly. The people in the back seem to be more engaged in talking to each other than concentrating on make the food taste good. A lil ghetto actually. At least the price was right. About $10 per person. Definitely will not be back. This visit erased all doubt that there might be something good to eat here.
