The Haywain

Friday 06/08/21. My aunt and I arrived without prior booking at about 6pm. The girl who greeted us at the door explained there may be a wait but we were welcome and gave us our choice of seating. We were promptly offered drinks and given a bottle of water at the table. We didn't decide on our food orders straight away, but didn't feel at all rushed to do so. Once we had ordered it arrived rather sooner than we anticipated which was a welcome surprise. Our food was well presented and the service by Nicky was exemplary! The young staff who attended us also, a girl and a boy were both very nice to us and incredibly efficient. The fish and chips were wonderful, my aunt asked the young boy to inform the chef that this was the best she has had and she regularly dines out across the Vale. The food alone means we will return but the high level of customer service makes this a certainty. We both had a very pleasant evening, a rare catch up which will now become a regular event at The Haywain. Thank you sincerely for such a lovely evening.

The food was amazing and absolutely delicious, a childrens play area was great also.. A very family and friendly place to enjoy a nice meal with the locals. I noticed Rachel was an absolute star she was multi tasking, her focus was precise and on point and we left happy customers. Visitors from London

Huge thanks to all the staff at the Haywain for the wonderful friendly staff, excellent service, and high quality of food at the celebration of life of my Husband Dale yesterday. It was a day I really did not want to come but the professionalism and care from the Haywain team made it very much easier to bear. It truly was a party and celebration as he would have wanted. Thank you.

Went to the Haywain for a last minute hen party/day before wedding meal. They very kindly accommodated 16 of us in the outside gazebo. We were able to order drinks to the table using the qr code provided which made things much easier than when you order drinks at the bar. They had a system was when you placed the order at the bar where you'd then go outside and wait by the black table for the drinks to be brought out to you. I understand they may not want people congregating at the bar, however this just seems quite a disjointed way of acquiring a drink. The food was lovely, not 1 person in our group had a complaint, so that was great. I think the only 1 complaint we could have was the attitude of 1 of members of staff. We ordered 2 drinks using the qr code and the wrong drinks were brought to the table so we asked for these for these be corrected. After waiting for a while for them to be replaced one of us went to find out where they were however on the way she bumped into this particular waitress so she asked if she knew where the drinks were( it was the same waitress that brought the wrong drink), she snapped and said the was bringing deserts first! She appeared to not want to be there, she also gave attitude to another member of the group as well. Not very customer friendly unfortunately. Also, when were were ordering drinks, for example bottles of soft drinks as there were no soft drinks on the pumps, no glasses were brought with them only bottles. Now I'm not saying that they have to bring fresh glasses everytime however, when someone is drinking cider for example, then has to put their coke into the same glass or chose to drink directly from the bottle, it's not great! Also can you just be mindful when you have customers sitting in the gazebo that when it I getting darker could you put some lights on. No lights were put on at all during the evening. All in all though lovely food, nice atmosphere, would definitely recommend

Loved the place. But they seriously need to think about getting an app for serving purposes. Their present system is a bit of a shambles. However great atmosphere and excellent entertainment. The serving system let them down. Two lots of our drinks order went astray due to staff not having a clue where they were supposed to go.

Visited today and had an afternoon tea with family and friends. The staff couldn't do enough to help and were very friendly. Fantastic afternoon tea prepared by Victoria that you would be hard pushed to beat it was amazing. We all throughly enjoyed it and will be back soon for another one. You won't be disappointed.
