Myself, my partner and our son ate here for the first time today. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced for huge portion size you get. The waitress was absolutely lovely. We will defiantly be coming back
Had a Christmas meal with friends last night. There was a good choice of menu, we were asked to pre book our meals as we were a large party...14 of us. Meal was great, everyone enjoyed, plenty of meat and choice of veg. Food was hot and we were all served within minutes. Pleasant staff, would reccomend.
Friday 06/08/21. My aunt and I arrived without prior booking at about 6pm. The girl who greeted us at the door explained there may be a wait but we were welcome and gave us our choice of seating. We were promptly offered drinks and given a bottle of water at the table. We didn't decide on our food orders straight away, but didn't feel at all rushed to do so. Once we had ordered it arrived rather sooner than we anticipated which was a welcome surprise. Our food was well presented and the service by Nicky was exemplary! The young staff who attended us also, a girl and a boy were both very nice to us and incredibly efficient. The fish and chips were wonderful, my aunt asked the young boy to inform the chef that this was the best she has had and she regularly dines out across the Vale. The food alone means we will return but the high level of customer service makes this a certainty. We both had a very pleasant evening, a rare catch up which will now become a regular event at The Haywain. Thank you sincerely for such a lovely evening.
Called in for food. Great menu with varied choices for everyone. My boyfriend had hand carved ham salad+it was a lovely, fresh, crisp salad-huge bowl with quality, thick ham. I had grilled seabass+jacket potato, was served with peas+side salad. It was fantastic! Fish was beautiful. The jacket potato was so good you didn't need butter cos it tasted amazing. One of the best jacket potatoes I've ever had! The place is nicely decorated+very clean. It is very spacious+suitable for all occasions. It has plenty of outside seating for sunny days all around the pub. It has a great kids playground at the side which is fully fenced so your kids can't just run off easily. There is plenty of places to sit away from the playground if you didn't want to be around kids!😜There was also a massive marquee frame outside so obviously you could rent a big marquee for a big, family party. I will definitely be going back there again for a meal + maybe for a few drinks outside in the sunshine😉😜
Incredible food with amazing portion sizes! The food was also served by incredible staff really efficiently and with fabulous service. Really enjoyed our time! Will be back again in no time!
The afternoon tea delivery option is an excellent lockdown present. We ordered one for my mum's birthday and received the pictured selection for £19.95 (including delivery). They could certainly get away with charging a lot more than that!
Took the missus here for Valentines. Essentially our first date out without the kids!
Admittedly it wasn’t my first choice of venue, never been here before. But we were both really glad we did, will be returning again. It seemed quiet when we arrived, was clean and had a rustic feel, without feeling like the villages local pub. Really nice laid back atmosphere without feeling ..cheap
Food was decent, starter of Tomato and Red Pepper soup was a surprise delight. Served with hot bread too.
Minor issue with the steak meals, nothing to ruin the night. My partner had her potatoes swapped for chips, but these didn’t arrive with the meal they had to be asked for. The sautéed potatoes on mine were not great. Left me wishing I had chosen chips too, as those were fantastic.
Steaks were slightly overcooked for our preference, but still tasted good. Unfortunately they were on the wrong plates, but we swapped. No harm!
Came with normal peppercorn sauce rather than the pink advertised. Slightly gutted about that.
Cheesecake is a weakness of mine. The lemon served here had a great flavour. Not too sharp, no sogginess. Something I’d enjoy again.
Came in at just under 60, for two 3 course meals plus drinks. No argument there.
Looking forward to returning here. Seeing what else the menu has to offer.
Thoroughly enjoyed our first experience of haywain. The food was excellent, the service was friendly too. Will definitely be going back. Sunday roast was lovely.
Very nice pub with lovely food at reasonable prices.
The food was amazing and absolutely delicious, a childrens play area was great also.. A very family and friendly place to enjoy a nice meal with the locals. I noticed Rachel was an absolute star she was multi tasking, her focus was precise and on point and we left happy customers. Visitors from London
Beef Sunday roast was really good. I did enjoy my meal . Staff are friendly. There's no waiting around. Minutes after the order had been taken the food was on the table. Would recommend
A great pub to visit, when pubs are allowed to open again, for a drink or a meal. They're now delivering meals, etc in the local area and we've just finished our Sunday lunch. The meal was delicious, with plenty of different vegetables and, of course, gravy; we both had chicken and I think they also do beef and pork. There's enough food to fill a large plate and it just needs to be microwaved to bring up to temp.
Anyway, we've just had a first class meal and highly recommend their delivery service to anyone who wants no hassle, high quality food.
Just call them to order.
