Thoroughly enjoyed our meals at The Crown Inn last night. Well cooked, good-sized portions were served by a great waitress who made us feel welcome rather than those that just go through the motions elsewhere.
Varied menu with just the right amount of tasty options still makes choosing a favourite main pretty tricky, so I went for a main to relive childhood memories, kidneys but done with a modern twist. So glad I did and the wife's homemade pie was really good too. Three great courses enjoyed in a traditional old country pub with nice furniture. Book a table when in the area. Came across this pub by accident and so glad we did. Greeted with a big smile by the landlord who fitted us in for an excellent lunch. Huge portions great value in a real village pub with friendly locals and staff. Marvellous!

Lovely little pub with a nice garden - welcomed the family and dog. Only had some chips but they were delicious washed down with a pint of cold beer.

Excellent pints of Palmers IPA straight from the barrel. This is a temporary arrangement, it's usually on hand pump.
I enjoyed the experience of eating an extremely good steak, mushroom & ale pie, chips, peas & gravy from a cardboard box. I would say, however, that gravy and cardboard boxes aren't necessarily a good mix.
