Our family of 6 enjoyed an amazing meal at Petits Pois to celebrate our Dads birthday. The menu has something for everyone from meat lovers to my vegetarian daughter, there’s a specials board too. Petits Pois has a lovely atmosphere and staff are warm and friendly. There is a real personal feel here. The decor is also lovely. But the food! The food is some of the best we have had. Good wine list too. Mussels and clams marinere and goats cheese croquettes to start.... Beef short ribs with garlic mash, duck, blood orange and dauphinois, Iberian pork and creamed cabbage, goats cheese and walnut parcel to follow and chocolate fondant and pistachio ice cream (still dreaming about that ice cream) creme brulee and amazing tart tartin as good as any I’ve eaten in Paris. Delighted to have chosen this lovely restaurant for Dads birthday. Thank you to the staff for a lovely meal and the birthday surprise.

Family meal for 3 generations and everyone adored their food. I hope to eat at this restaurant again. Lovely atmosphere and superb food.

We came for dinner with friends on a Friday evening and had a lovely time. The place was packed but service was friendly and generally well-paced. There was just a brief moment when I wondered where our main courses were; but as I had the thought, they appeared. The food was delicious. Snails, goat cheese croquettes, duck rillettes, short rib, scallops and duck all very tasty and followed by delicious little crème brûlée’s. I’ve taken a star off for a couple of little quibbles. This must be the only French restaurant in the world that doesn’t offer complimentary bread... lacking especially for the snails. Also, the wine was quite heftily marked up - we paid nearly £40 for a Cote du Rhône which wouldn’t cost a tenner from my wine merchant. Finally, the portions were a little small. My beef was £14 which was good value, but it was small for a main course. It was utterly delicious and I would happily have paid a fiver more to have a slightly more generous helping. Nevertheless, it was a lovely evening and we will definitely return. I may just have an emergency steak in my pocket to munch on if needed when we do.

We turned up on spec and were welcomed warmly. The service was good throughout and the food (duck in a blood orange sauce with celeriac daupihinoise and great sorbets and superb apple tarte tatin). Witn wine £52 - a bargain. Will go again

A superb restaurant. Service was excellent, food superb, great flavours in each dish. The atmosphere was wonderful particularly as it was a dismal Monday evening. And a good selection of wines. We loved it and had a perfect anniversary meal.

A February Monday night in Brighton. Looking for a non-chain restaurant was proving to be difficult. Resorted to Google for inspiration which led us to Petit Pois. An excellent find, was met with a smile and pointed to a table quickly despite there being a large group in place. It’s not a big restaurant, so we were concerned that they may struggle to cope. We needn’t have worried. They were on top of everything. The food was excellent. Both me and my wife enjoyed all the courses. It would be difficult to pick out any of them as they were all good. Oh, one that I will, the macaroon at the end, one of the nicest I have ever had. Price wise, very reasonable given the quality on offer. I’m an out of towner, but visit Brighton often, so we will come back here.

A great choice for a Monday (or any evening for that matter bar Tuesday and Wednesday when Petit Pois is currently closed). Good French based menu with a special plate of cheeses or meats definitely worth trying at some point during your meal. Apart from good food and reasonably priced choices we really liked the service that was both attentive, friendly and also gave us space and time to enjoy our meal. Our new favourite when visiting Brighton.

Quel plaisir d’avoir trouvé ce petit restaurant bien sympathique à Brighton. 3 of us went for dinner on a busy Friday night for my friend’s birthday. It was our first visit and we loved it. Quick and attentive service, food was all delicious and really well seasoned. The poussin was a standout for me and the Languedoc red wine. I really miss café gourmand so was very pleased to see it on the dessert menu. Have recommended to others and would certainly return. Merci.

Went here for a pre Christmas meal with my friend. We eat out a lot and fancied this restaurant. It was really busy when we got there and got seated quickly. Unfortunately customers after us got their order taken first, but this wasn’t really a problem- just that we were hungry 😋. The food is excellent, portions a good size and we loved the way the cheese is the second course. The cheese ‘blackboard’ is amazing 😉. We had a great meal and will go back as we love good quality and well cooked food.

The Petit Pois is a great French restaurant in Brighton that offers all the classic dishes (snails, frog legs, etc.) in a casual, relaxed, friendly environment. A win-win approach. We had the snails (excellent), the lamb chops (perfectly cooked), a salmon plate (good, but we didn’t expect smoked salmon) and the ravioli (good, maybe a bit small portion). We also enjoyed the trio of cremes brûlées (would rather prefer one classic). Overall a great evening with very good service and honest, clear flavours. What more to ask?

Food here was excellent. Our table had lamb, duck and fish bouillabaisse (similar) for mains. Frogs legs, snails, duck pate as starters. All of the food was great. Small menu but excellent quality. Only a few small negatives - charge extra for bread, none served with snails? Service a little slow but very busy. Overall great value quality food. Wine a bit pricey. Will return.

Food and wine was excellent with very reasonable prices (Brighton is generally over priced). Very enjoyable experience!

Sunday and had not booked! This restaurant is often fully booked, so we were delighted to be seated immediately. My son had to catch a train back to London. Service was speedy. The small order and a glass of wine prompt and absolutely delicious. Can’t wait to return and try out the many delicious courses very soon.

Truly delicious food and lovely friendly service. This place is an absolute gem. The best French food we've experienced in quite a while. We were fortunate to get a cancellation offered to us. Someone else's loss and our gain!

Just delicious, you'll want everything on the menu! Food is made with real care, with high quality ingredients, treated extremely well. Lovely service, attentive but unobtrusive. Good and reasonable wine list. Booked again the same day. Can't wait to share with other friends and family. I almost didn't want to write a review in case I can't get a table next time! Definitely one of my favourites in Brighton

Wandered in not expecting much because we were hungry and happened to be passing. Great, friendly, professional service. Very good prices, and delicious Sunday roast. Will definitely be back.
