I can't think of a finer place to spend your summer days and nights than The Tempest. The staff always has a smile on their faces, the soundtrack is always outstanding, the vibe the best in the city and the food utterly delicious - too many fabulous fish dishes have been eaten by this happy customer. Add their legendary parties with some of the city's classiest of promoters and DJs and you have a beachside venue made for summer loving and winter wonders. A Brighton treasure that will always bring you pleasure.

Beautiful seaside bar! Really nice to sit outside in the sun with a pint. But also the cave like interior is very cool if you want to go inside. They also do really good food, Korean style chicken which is very tasty. At night the bar comes alive with a variety of music and djs playing outdoors and indoors. Really good nightlife spot as well. Highly recommend for afternoon pints and a night out!
We came to Tempest Inn to the English Disco Lovers night, it was great fun! The atmosphere was good and the drinks were flowing and the music was on point! Nice to see an older crowd out and a pleasure to be dancing outside in October! Don’t hate, gyrate!!
Absolutely brilliant place! We turned up with a large party (35 people) on an hour’s notice and got a super warm welcome and a lovely lunch. Staff were 10/10 - thank you Owen
Amazing indoor and outdoor seating at the Tempest inn, with sea views as well as dimly lit cave seatings. The food was delicious, and the drinks kept coming.
Excellent venue with a great selection of delicious food and beers, the perfect spot in Brighton for a pint (or 3) in the sun, and a very cool space for a cocktail and dance in the caves. At night, the place comes alive with an excellent variety of DJs and events, both inside and out. I've had many fantastic nights here, this really is one of Brighton's top institutions!
Great venue! Amazing music and vibes, Dj’s always on point! Staff are great and always welcoming. I’ve Had some amazing nights at The Tempest on the Terrace or inside in the caves. Top venue!!
Got a friend the Lollipop Chicken with Blue Cheese. She loved it, shared it then took it back off Me. Nice little protein fix.
Good portions.
Took it on the beach take away and there's a bin just by the bar.
Tried a sip of local Ales they provide thanks to the staff.
Loved inside.
Didn't get to sit in as there was a bit of sun, but looked very cosy.
My friend wants to go again.
We had a drink outside in the sunshine at the Tempest during the day and then came back later on in the evening when there was a DJ playing on the terrace. Great atmosphere in the evening and everyone was having a good time. Friendly staff too. Haven't tried the food yet but will hopefully be back to try that soon
Good location on the seafront, with a quirky interior (if a little gloomy). The food was great and the staff were friendly... very good squid... I made sure that I came back for more. Ordering to table via Internet is sometimes available, and sometimes not, and if seated inside, with no wifi and very weak network, it might be easier to order at the bar, depending on how busy it is.
Interesting fake caves make for a fun gimmick in the pub in general - all the beers are on tap, I didn't see any pumps. And on Friday is turns into a nightclub quite early. They said from 6 but the music was quite loud from about 4. It's very much got a nightclub feel. The food menu was limited but was just simple pub-grub for the most part. It was okay!
