Popped in and had one cask (absolutely tip top condition) and spent the time drinking that picking a Belgian beer from the massive four (might have been five!) page option of bottles. Definitely worth a visit if you like Belgian (or German there was an equally large selection) beers.

This place is really nice. It's got a wonderful homey feel and the decor is eclectic but good. The staff are friendly, chatty and knowledgeable about the beers etc. There are some pub games to play too. The food was delicious, all vegan and came out quite fast. I would seriously recommend the fried gherkins soooo good! Recommend this as a stop for anyone.

In a world of chain pubs where every place feels the same, this little bar was refreshingly different. Wouldn't seem out of place in Bavaria, the beer was great, the music was punky and the atmosphere was friendly and cosy. The food is 100% vegan, dirty, and so tasty.

New menu is a great fit - burgers are beyond good, portions are generous and sides well worth it. Don't skip the frickles and slaw! Always good music and friendly service. Beer is always kept and served perfectly too!

This is one of the best bars in Bristol - if not THE best. Amazing draft beer selection, and a whole menu of Belgian and German bottles. Good sour beers and cider too. Funky interior, good crowd, helpful, friendly bar staff. Just a cool place to drink amazing amazing booze.

Had an amazing time at The Old Bookshop while visiting Bristol. A great, buzzing atmosphere as soon as you come off the street. If you can't get a seated table, there are standing tables near the bar which is a nice touch Loved the quirky artwork on the walls and pictures.
I've always been a big fan of German beers in particular wheat beers - and this is a great place to come, if this is your thing. One of the best selections in the UK I've seen. The Jacob on draft was delicious, along with the usual German classics (see the Augustiner in the photos).
All of this was complemented by the delicious vegan tapas-style dishes. I don't always eat vegan cuisine when I go out but I guarantee even meat eaters would enjoy this feast.
The staff were very friendly and the clientele just generally very pleasant. I'll definitely be back to visit The Old Bookshop next time I'm back.
