Amazing pie. They serve great selection of pies with many side dishes. I tried "The Mothership" pie with "Moo" pie flavor. The only downside is I think it's a bit overpriced. However, quite a delightful visit.
They have a separate gluten free menu which is awesome. The pies are crazy good! The pastry on the gluten free pie tastes and flakes like real pastry. They even give you gluten free gravy. Great service too.
Having initially discovered this place thanks to the UK Lonely Planet Guide, I was impressed.
Just a short walk away from Calbot Circus, this place was easy to find (with the help of google maps).
There was a good selection of pies with an equally good selection of sides.
I ended up getting the Matador (A British beef steak, chorizo, olive & butter bean pie) in a form of a mothership (sides of LOTS of gravy, minty peas, crispy shallots and cheddar cheese). It was fantastic! I loved the meal and is probably one of the best pies I've had. I even had fun dressing the pie with all the sides.
Having free wifi was also a plus for a person who is travelling.
I would definitely come back to this place if I past it again.
Visited with friends and we had a great time. I would highly recommend the sweet potato fries! The cocktails also went down a treat - gin ger bits and red berets were so refreshing! Altogether great food, great service and a great price!
Absolutely love the pies here. The chicken and mushroom pie, along with a portion of mashed potatoes, mushy peas and drizzled with their homemade gravy is to die for. The other pies in their collection are great too. Cant wait to head here whenever I am in Bristol next.
Pietastic!. I'm Australian. I know pies. These pies are by far the best I have come across in the UK. Not surprising really since they got their inspiration from travels to Oz.
Delicious array of filling options available. They also have a pastry bottom (a rarity on this side of the world).
The lunch at any stag-do is pivotal to ensure that casualties are kept to a minimum. With that in mind, the best man played a blinder in selecting pieminister. Given that most of my readers are smart and savvy foodies, you'll have no doubt come across their pies before. And if you haven't, you can find them at Waitrose, or if you live in London, at Borough Market. Bristol is the birthplace of pieminister, and we visited their shop on Stokes Croft. Seating around twenty, it offers a wide selection of pies, many with pun-tastic names such as chicken of aragon , heidi pie and mr. porky pie . I went for the latter with its sumptuous filling of pork, apple and sage amongst other goodies. The pie was to
After having had MANY of their cook at home pies, I finally got myself down to their restaurant and it did not disappoint! The service was quick and super friendly and the food was flavourful and delicious. They have their own amazing spicy ketchup, I also recommend trying the ginger mocktail!
Had a lovely time here, very attentive staff. Cocktails were nice and great value at 2 for price of one! The service was so quick too. And of course the food looks, smells and tastes delicious. A favourite place to eat when in Bristol.
Wow, just wow!!
This was the best pie I have ever tasted!!! A must do when in Bristol.
I wish I could eat it again and again, bring one to Canada please!!
Maroc Star filo pie was delish! Halloumi chips with chilli jam as a side. Didn't use the gravy as there was no need for it. Mash was instant mash, so not great. Great find, great food!
The original Pieminister doesn't disappoint! Great food.
This Pieminister restaurant was much less busy than other ones of the same chain in Bristol on Saturday lunch time. Concept of a burger joint adapted to the UK market with main dish - pies. Great variety and “adaptability” of the dishes, many options to choose from, however for the first time visitors the menu could be slightly overwhelming. I particularly enjoyed the fact how many vegetarian and vegan options were provided, also vegan gravy was delicious. Many options I would describe as a “classic dish with modern take” Overall, is a good place for lunch, service is super quick, friendly staff.
Our first night in Bristol and we were just wanting something easy and comforting to eat nearby. Absolutely delicious pies; perfectly crisp pastry outer with a delicious filling. I had the Moo pie and my friend had the Moo and blue which she said was perfect balance of beef to blue cheese. The mash was creamy and the gravy just the right consistency. They also do 2 for 1 cocktails which were great. A big shoutout to Serge who was our server for the evening- making us feel incredibly welcome and providing the perfect amount of attentiveness- the perfect host!
Love this place ! Food is delicious and great value for money ! My fries portion was huge and definitely not what you expect for just over £10 !
All the staff members are super lovely and very attentive.
Well done to whoever manages the place and the team - so nice to see staff being happy while at work :)
Stopped in here on a whim, server was prompt and polite, service was quick and efficient, food was fantastic. Very well priced. Would definitely recommend.
