The White Horse became my favourite local restaurant. The staff is friendly and has great service, the food is gorgeous, and the wine selection is various. Highly recommended.

Food still very good and reasonable price. Cheesy garlic bread was really well done. Staff extremely attentive and very welcoming. Portions were sizeable. We had starter and main and were totally stuffed. Sauteed potatoes were excellent. Only minor negative was that the service wasn't particularly quick for the food. Not an issue for us, and possibly would be different on a other day.

My wife and I went here for dinner last night, having not visited for about 18 months. It has to be said: not much has changed, including the menu! We both choose the fish of the day which was delicious, beautifully cooked and served. Other than that the menu was really uninspiring and needs a refresh. Our meal was accompanied by a bottle of Viognier which was also delicious. Vanilla ice cream for dessert was perfect, some of the best I've had in a while. So, in summary, our food experience here was excellent but the 4 stars reflect the tired menu and the somewhat amateur-hour service. It was lovely (& believe me I do not take a nice meal out for granted) but unless they change the menu and get a little more adventurous with it, we won't be rushing back.

We loved our trip to the white horse today! We called ahead as someone in our party has some specific dietary requirements. We were reassured by the lovely Tim that they could sort something tasty for her. When we arrived they offered plenty of detail on ingredients and cooked her up a beautiful adapted meal, not just a normal meal without some elements. She was chuffed and really enjoyed the food. Other food (pork belly and squid) was delicious too. Great and thoughtful service with food to match. Give Tim a raise! Thanks guys

Came for a ladies night, wonderful food, beautifully prepared and presented. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Owner offered the "bride to be" a glass of fizz on the house which was a nice touch. Only bit of constructive criticism is that the drinks could have been cleared sooner freeing up table space. Will definitely visit again on future visits to see the family. Very dog friendly. Not suitable for disabled visitors unfortunately, the cans of eating in a 15th century building! X

5 out of 5 stars for the White Horse, just had a Sunday roast dinner here and it was excellent! Firstly the staff were friendly, efficient and gave a very polite service. The roast pork was delicious, tender and perfectly cooked with crispy crackling and all the trimmings, couldn’t fault it. Extra gravy was brought quickly on request. Will definitely return!

I had a truly wonderful evening! I cannot rate enough how fantastic this place is. I had the vegan burger, the quinoa salad, and a cheeky couple of French 77 cocktails and everything was exquisite!! The service from arrival to leaving was wonderfully welcoming and friendly. I could not fault anything. The vegan burger was especially good as so many vegan burgers are just plain or disappointing. It even tops my favourite homemade one. Thoughtful cooking, gorgeous menu, from the food to the drinks, everything is done with taste and class. Absolutely would love to visit again and hope to soon!

We had a lovely dinner last night. Can't fault anything. Excellent service , very good food and great atmosphere. This was our first dinner out after months and we couldn't choose a better place to go to. Tablets are spaced out so you feel comfortable and safe. There is plenty of hand sanitizer, gloves and masks. We will definitely come back.
