It’s unfortunate that I will say I have been less than impressed by the fish and chip game Bristol has had to offer in my two years living here. But who would have thought that my local chippy round-the-corner would provide the most delectable spuds in the city? Bristol- it’s time you upped your fish & chip game as Chandos Fish Bar is the best we’ve had. Walking in, the atmosphere was unlike any other chippy I have visited in Bristol. The blue tiles providing a welcoming escape from the usual greasy metallic structure one is used to approaching at a local chippy. We ordered the usual, two cod and chips, mushy peas and curry sauce. The cod was beautifully battered; crispy- not soggy, and laid ever so eloquently over an incredibly generous portion of chips. The sides also managed to hit the exact spot. I can only wish I’d not been so eager to tuck in and had taken photos of the masterpiece of a Cod & Chips served by Chandos Fish Bar last night.

Really enjoyed the fish and chips from Chandos Fish Bar. The portions were very good, reasonably priced for takeaway, fish was succulent and juicy, good clean oil, fresh chips and the chef/server was lovely. Will have to make this a regular lunchtime treat! Placed the order on the phone and was ready in 15 minutes fresh and lovely. Thank you.
