The Assembly

Had a really lovely time here watching the England game. The staff were offering free hotdogs, but we couldn't have them as vegetarians, so they went and got us veggie option from greggs. They said they didn't want anyone in the pub to feel left out. It was a lovely touch and we will definetly be back to this friendly local pub. Also the projector was a great way to watch the game. Recommend to anyone who wants to have a laugh and enjoy a few pints! Thanks for the great service.

It was about 5pm on a gloomy day last week that I found myself in need of food and drink in East Street, Bedminster. The Assembly was nearby so my friend and I ventured in. It's a large but inviting pub inside with (sadly) plenty of empty tables; it looks recently refurbished & modernised. The barman was friendly and efficient. The bar was clean and they sell a good selection of draught beers etc. There was a '2 meals for £10' offer advertised as well as their regular menu comprising standard pub grub with some more interesting dishes as well. They also do an all-day breakfast which my friend enjoyed. I had a steak pie, which could have been home made, along with mash and a good selection of crunchy veg. We both commented on how good the food was. Portions are generous and unfortunately neither of us managed to eat everything on our plates. There is a snooker table at the back of the pub and about six fruit machines along the wall. Everyone was very friendly - even the chef! A great pub!
