Chido Wey

Checked out this incredibly popular Mexican restaurant in Bristol, and it was truly worth the visit. Went for dinner around the Date of the Dead, and the vibe was spot on with all the cool decor and candles. Tacos were decent, though I'm more of a crispy tortilla fan. The standout dish was undoubtedly the pork shoulder quesadillas. The cheese and pork combo was mouthwatering, and that hummus dip on the side is also absolutely banging. Had the mezcal cocktail too – not as smoky as usual, but still a well-balanced drink. Overall, a fab dining experience.

I'd been wanting to go to Chido Wey for ages after being recommended it by so many friends and wow I was not disappointed! Really authentic atmosphere, staff were super friendly and the food was absolute delicious - some of the best Mexican I've ever had. Portion sizes were big enough I had to take some home for lunch the next day. Sadly didn't get to try the cocktails as I was doing sober October but my partner said his was one of the best he'd had

Everything about this place is amazing! Customer service was great, they recommended the best dishes for us to try as we haven't had much experience in mexican food. And when the food came... Wow! It had sooo much flavour and fresh ingredience. My mouth is watering already after thinking about the food there... I will be back for sure!

Easily the best burrito I've ever had. I had the señor bean. The depth of flavour was unbelievable. Smokey, spicy, tomato, creamy, garlicky, the occasional hint of coriander. Spectacular. Came with a serving of tortilla chips with the deepest smokiest chipotle. Good addition to the burgeoning Old Market area, which these days is becoming almost like the Gloucester Road. Beautiful old buildings and indie shops. Chido Wey also has a great cocktail selection plus local and Mexican beers. Will definitely be back.

A favourite lunch spot for my work team(s); truly exceptional burritos, loads of great cocktails, fun decor/vibe, great service. Quite small - so either call ahead if you have a large party or plan on waiting - and most tables sit two or four. Very busy almost all times I've been there so plan ahead! Have had both meat and vegetarian dishes here - both excellent - so no matter your dietary preferences you should find something delightful at Chido Wey.
