Sump

The Sump looks amazing, all decorated up for Halloween. The atmosphere is great, food is gorgeous, and service is brilliant. Staff are friendly and helpful. Had scampi, chips, and mushy peas, served with a lovely tartar sauce. To follow a very tasty Blood Orange and Chocolate Brownie with ice cream. The pub is lucky enough to be right next to the river trent, so it's good to sit outside in summer and any other dry day, enjoying a drink/meal and watching the ducks. There is disabled parking around the rear of the pub and also disabled accessibility. Menu is varied with vegetarian options, and not too expensive. Drinks are also reasonably priced, with alcohol free options.

The Sump is a beautiful place set in beautiful surroundings. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. The food was well prepared and tasted fantastic and was piping hot as it should be. My partner and I felt very comfortable and cannot wait for a return visit. Will definitely be back. There is absolutely nothing bad to say. Everything was excellent

Booked online, table reserved sign was on table when we arrived which made us feel welcome, good seating in the conservatory. Not too many inside but lots of people outside due to sunny weather. More people arrived latet. Friendly bar staff, we ordered drinks, sat at out table chatting, then went to order food, tableserver, soon arrived with our cutlery, including steak knife for the gammon, asked if we wanted sauces which she promptly brought. Food soon arrived, well presented and delicous. After food we had another drink and went outside to the lovely seating area which overlooks the river, we felt like we were on holiday. We had such a lovely experience that we are planning to come again soon with another friend 👏👏⭐⭐

Food was good and served pretty quickly, especially as the poor serving girl was serving food to all in the pub! She forgot the dips included with the meal, but it's to be forgiven as she was single handed and we asked at the bar for them. Our only disappointment was that we weren't made aware of the meal and drink offer whilst ordering at the bar and discovered it when we sat down to the meal.
