Le Chateau

I stayed for a couple of nights in this wonderful place. Firstly, the reception from Toni and her son was so welcoming. They were so flexible in letting me change my dates. The first thing I should say is that Le Chateau is a wonderful family run bed and breakfast. It is NOT a hotel. So don't expect room service, a pool etc.. which you will get at hotel chains. Instead expect a personal reception, service, comfortable rooms, great breakfast and a lovely quiet atmosphere. The location was perfect for me a I had a meeting in a local pub. The room was excellent and just what I wanted. Breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately, I could not do it justice. A big thank you to Toni, Paul and their son, who was so helpful (sorry I forgot his name).

Lovely Sunday lunch. There were lots of locals visiting, which is usually a good sign! We both had the roast beef, which was very tender and the portions of all components (veggies, meat, potatoes and yorkie pud) were good. We were a little early, so decided to make the most of the sunshine by sitting on one of the benches in the front garden. A great meal to cap off a fantastic weekend in the New Forest.

Lovely warm welcome. Room was nice and bathroom set out well. Dinner was delicious with a wide choice on the menu. Service was professional, attententative and friendly. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Delicious fresh fruit salad, cooked breakfasts and tasty jam and marmalade. Liked the coffee too. All round perfect and 5*. The atmosphere is relaxed which I particularly enjoyed. Thank you.

First occasion visiting here last night for my birthday. I'm delighted with my choice. Thank you so much to the family run & friendly staff who looked after us & made us feel welcome. We'd love to come back again soon. Beautifully cooked food. I'd loved the variety of menu options & there were dishes to suit all palates including a couple of vegetarian. Despite a mid-week booking, was still popular with locals & non-locals. The chef was able to make tricky desserts like Baked Alaska & make Monkfish with great flavour (as Monkfish is normally quite a bland fish). Presentation was consistent & just lovely. Can't wait to come back & try some more dishes! Well done guys x
