The Italian

My fiancé and I visit this place whenever we want some time to ourselves and it's a great place to go. We love all things italian,and although the service is SOMETIMES a little slow,BUT it's a small,authentic Italian restaurant which gets very busy because it's so good! food is outstanding with great wine and friendly staff.

We 've given four stars out of five. Food and service fantastic but a very long wait between starters and main course meant we decided to forego the desert menu. It was a real shame as the night had real potential. I think a return visit is needed to see if it was a one off. Food was excellent though.

Came here by chance on a wet, windy Wednesday evening but thank goodness fate blessed me, my fiance and my future mother in law to arrive at this hidden gem. The hostess was polite, attentive & courteous, and our waiter Giovanni did everything to make sure all was to our satisfaction. He's a lively character he is but for sure, he adds to the charm of the restaurant. My mother in law is the fussiest of eaters however loved every single dish, from our starters to mains as well as our desserts. You could tell each of our dishes was cooked by a chef full of pride and passion. I have to say, portions are very generous!! I hope you can see that all 3 of us had an amazing evening, and can't wait to visit again next time we're back in the area. Thankyou to all the team involved. Having worked as a chef in fine dining, as well working in the hospitality and service industry, and now a fine food supplier to Michelin star restaurants in London, I can truly say it was a real pleasure to be served by a team who go above and beyond to ensure the customer was happy.
