THE definition of an old school Irish pub. This is a local for those in the know and the lucky few that find it by accident. Family owned and operated for generations. These places are sadly passing away. But Foleys is as strong as ever. Buy local, spend local, and enjoy. There's no food here though.

My first time visiting JJ Folley restaurant was the day before St. Patrick’s Day this year of 2023. I sat back and watched this waiter “hustle” with a “friendly smile” on his face to all the customers he was serving, and was impressed by the way he handled everything. At the end of my stay, I asked to speak to the manager……And, when I did, I found out the gentleman’s name was Mike( the owners son) and it was his father, who owns the restaurant. “ Kudos to Mike” for providing us “excellent service” and I most definitely will come back again when I’m in the Boston area. The staff are very attentive and welcoming. Drinks are always made right and the buffalo chicken is very good. Can't wait to go back again. Update: I can not say enough good things about this place. The atmosphere is always amazing. It feels like a familiar place even to people checking it out for the first time. My friends and I were suppose to be enjoying a "pub crawl" that was poorly organized. We decided to venture on our own and suggested we go to JJ Foley's. Our friends had the best time. The staff was kind and friendly making jokes with us. The atmosphere was welcoming and we met many new and interesting people. This is a boston gem!

Started as an after hours bar. Turns out I was just late to the game. Some of my best after hours times. Bar tenders, top notch. (remembered me a couple of weeks later.) Totes professional, always on the ball (not blowing me off for a hottie that walked up after me. Even if I might have. 😏 I've gone back many times. Always the best!
