East Side Bar & Grill

The restaurant and bar have that hole in the wall but nice look and Rat Pack vibe. Unfortunately, the food left a lot to be desired. My pasta was so thoroughly boiled that it was basically mush. My friend ordered mussels and they were the size of chic peas. With the plethora of A+ restaurants in Boston, I cant see myself going there again.

We got the toasted ravioli for appetizers, and it was delicious!! Kinda like mozzarella sticks, but better. A large vegetarian pizza with our choice of toppings, it was an 18 inch pizza, very cheesy. The eggplant pasta was undercooked, we requested another plate and that was alright. I personally felt it was a bit bland. Overall it's a nice place to eat.

Our waiter Michael was really nice and sweet. Food was good too, I had surf and turf. Martinis were strong, just how they should be, I like to have a drink and taste alcohol. We got the restaurant voucher worth of $100 from a friend and were able to use it towards our bill. So there is an idea if you want to gift someone. Place is small but feels warm.

We were visiting Boston for the Memorial Weekend and picked this restuarant based on previous reviews. We really weren't expecting much more than a mediocre meal. This restaurant exceeded our expectations and helped make the rest of our weekend a truly memorable one. Thanks to the chef and serving staff.

We were in Boston at the end of our New England vacation and wanted some authentic Italian food close to our hotel in Cambridge. We were not disappointed with East Side...the food was fantastic and their service was great! The server was exceptionally professional and courteous and was very nice to my small daughter. I had the blackened chicken and my wife had the chicken marsala, both of which were very good! We would definitely come back here if we were in the area.

So, we had a reservation for 11. It was my moms 60th birthday. The reason for my low rating is because it the service was very slow, the food was not cooked well and it was uncomfortably warm. I had a pool of sweat on my back. Anyways, it took a good 1.5 hours to get our food, and it wasn’t just because we were a big party. There was a team of 2 that had to walk out due to the long wait(I wouldn’t be surprised if the heat had something to do with it as well). We got the fettuccini Alfredo and it had narrowly any flavor, and my date had got a chicken and Broccoli and ziti garlic dish and it was drenched in garlic and was “awful” as she put it. The reason I am giving it 2 stars instead of 1 is because my mom had a good time and said she had a great birthday but that was actually due to the company who attended. Overall bad experience and I would not go back myself. $75 bucks for three plates of food(my girl, daughter and myself) that none of us enjoyed, I will pass.
