Mo Malik's

Although I’ve lived in the area for many years I had no idea Mo Malik’s it existed. What a genuine surprise it was to discover and enjoy a meal there. Firstly, we went there during a week day so it was really quiet but it did mean we could walk in and get a table straight away. Spotlessly clean and COVID friendly I immediately felt at home when treated by the staff. It’s not a huge place so don’t expect to be able to do a Christmas party for 50 here. Now the food bit. WOW, just WOW. The kitchen is Bangladeshi and the dishes and the variety and combinations they offer is superb! The ingredients were so fresh and the best thing for me was the size of their portions. Here’s a restaurant that instead of trying to get away with serving the smallest portions possible and charging you till you bleed they provide single portions that are more than enough for two people and in some cases enough for three. I really enjoyed the meal, friendly staff and the cleanliness of the place. Will definitely be back.

I just had a takeaway indian from Mo Maliks. It is also a sit down restaurant. The gentleman that served me was very friendly and helpful. The food was beautiful full of flavour,good size portions and good quality ingredients. I would highly recommend and will definitely return when back in Cambridge. Thank you for a beautiful meal and excellent service.

Very impressed with this place. From first entering restaurant we were a bit unsure as it's very bright and different to previous curry house we've been to. But the waiter was fantastic straight over with water and chutneys which were full of flavour. Drinks were brought throughout the night. Big praise for the level of service very friendly and polite. We had the fish curry and jalfresi. I can honestly say it was one of the best fish currys I've ever had. Flavours were so good and presentation spot on. Mrs loved her jalfresi as well. So glad we found this place and if we are ever back in Cambridge we will return. Ate here as it was close to Premier Inn where we were staying - welcome surprise. First night we had a sublime mixed seafood curry, sounds very ordinary but it wasn't. Lovely flavour that left you wanting to scrape every drop of the sauce off the plate. Other reviews have highlighted just how good these fusion type dishes are. Second night was a large mixed grill of tikka, tandoori and such like. Very tender meat, no chewy bits or gristle. We were advised that only UK Red Tractor approved meats were used, with no artificial colours etc. so don't look for multi coloured dishes. Instead close your eyes and enjoy the flavours. They are just starting dine in service post Covid lockdown measures, so are still gathering speed. Great friendly staff and great food, slightly above mainstream curry house prices, which is a good thing. Defo not your post pub vindaloo and all the better for that. If you are staying in the nearby Premier Inn or Travelodge, a must for a decent evening meal.
