Amazing place. The perfect place to stop and chill in Cardiff. Lovely warm and relaxing amazing cakes and yesterday had the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. Wow. The best I’ve ever had. Didn’t eat for the rest of the day. Definitely our favourite place to eat and chill in Cardiff
If you're only in Cardiff for a day and short of time then forget Cardiff Castle and Cardiff Bay, just visit this place! I highly recommend the smashed avacado & egg on toast and the caramel black tea.
So I did not know about this place until recently.
I often come to Cardiff but on this occasion I was here for a coffee date.
On entering the staff were very welcoming and chatty. I ordered a coffee and paid by cash as I had the right change.
They only really like to accept card which is about of a ball ache if like me you prefer to use cash.
After chatting with the person I was meeting we decided to have food. The prices are very reasonable and I ordered jacket potato.
The food arrived in very impressive time, was very well presented and very hot. It taste absolutely delicious!
The place is very funky and the decor is really cool. I’ll be coming here again on my next trip over to Cardiff from Swansea.
We were looking for a place with homemade cake and a great atmosphere, Coffee Barker did not disappoint. The overall vibe is cosy, warm, and inviting. There were lots of comfy leather chairs and sofas. The candlelight light was a lovely touch. The place has a lot of character. If you are looking for quality coffee and good homemade cake, this is the place to go.
A very nice setup in castle arcade. Beautifully decorated and cosy to sit in. Had a full English with an americano and service was good. It’s a good place for a coffee and catch up with friends and family. Will visit again.

Amazing atmosphere and a universally friendly staff help to create a really nice vibe. A comfy place to take the weight off and relax. Prices are slightly higher than standard, but the quality matches up 👌
the atmosphere is lovely. i didn’t enjoy the breakfast as much as i thought i would but the bread and butter was divine. they have loads of options for all dietary requirements.
The location and decor are really amazing and I can see why this place is so popular. The arcade is really beautiful overall. Salads are really good as is the coffee. 👏
This is such a lovely coffee shop, with the best coffee. The nutella latte is to die for, definitely the best coffee my daughter and I have had. We visited Cardiff last year (for the first time) and found this fab place, so when we went back yesterday, it was the first place we wanted to go, and it didn't disappoint. If you are visiting Cardiff, go here, it's amazing ☕️👍
The place is lovely, but they did not have the omelette option, which I was looking for. Overall, the place and the food were good. The staff were too friendly too.
This cafe has been a Cardiff favourite for many years, and deservedly so. Located in the historic Castle Arcade, the cafe itself has a relaxed, traditional, luxurious aesthetic that makes it a pleasure to sit in. The furniture is all very comfortable, and the big windows are great for people watching. They have a great selection of hot drinks, but we just went for a pot of tea. They also have some lovely cakes at reasonable prices.
