A great place to eat for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Great service by very helpful staff. Food is delicious. I had the omelette with a choice of 3 fillings out of a few. Been here a few times and I'll be back again. Thank you

Fantastic atmosphere and beyond friendly staff. Greeted with a smile and taken to a table, given water before ordering. A lovely homely feel here and the toilets are the best in Cardiff...push the red button and find out why!!
Great selection of drinks and cakes as well as gorgeous menu choices.
All the better that it's a charity based organisation for mental health and well being. ššššš

Fantastic coffee, peppermint tea and cake. Vegan/gluten free options. Even better, it is non-profit and supports a range of charity work for the homeless and people who are struggling. Very friendly staff and award winning toilets too. Be kind and support bigmoose!

Great place! Food was good and the place is a non-profit! Love it! Will definitely go back, looks like a good place to study or work too.

The best food/brunch/lunch I've had in Cardiff. Ethically incredible (mental health advocacy), the tofu scramble was AMAZING and they tailor made drinks for us. Service was outstanding and the toilet was AMAZING! So calming. Will definitely be going back, a hidden gem just off Queens street. Thank you so much Big Moose!

The food was fantastic. The BLT really good, exceeded our expectations even. The French toast with hash browns were so good too. The prices arenāt that high either, which is really nice. The staff was incredibly kind too. Weāre probably coming back here tomorrow. Itās also in a nice spot where itās not too busy; good shade and a nice breeze.
Overall everything was above expectations.

Best place for lunch in Cardiff city centre - nice selection of brunch options, coffee and cakes all seemed to be freshly made. Our food was lovely, everything looked delicious. Friendly staff and attractive venue. Will definitely return......Did return and equally as nice French toast! Have returned many times. Always lovely!!

I lived this place for breakfast! There was something for all four of us, and one was vegan. Fantastic staff and the latte art was incredible

Have been walking past this cafe on the way to work for several months and decided to take my mum there this morning for breakfast. I was not disappointed, service with a smile, great coffee and delicious food - we both had an omelette which was stunning! The guys serving were great and the place had a relaxed atmosphere. Also really liked the rainforest noises in the bathroom! Update- Returned today after moving out of the area, still fantastic, team working there are amazing!

As Canadians travelling in the UK we were drawn in by the name of this coffee shop. We were warmly welcomed and enjoyed hot beverages with lemon cake as we learned more about this non profit cafƩ. There were birds chirping in the toilet! The women at the front counter suggested that we visit the Bay Area and since it was raining heavily they thought we might enjoy taking a boat down the river. And we did! Thanks for the friendly service and good advice. Experiences like this make our visit to Cardiff memorable.

Ok, who'd have thought that grabbing a coffee and bite to eat would be such a positive experience? I first heard of The BigMoose Coffee Co. through the power of Facebook, when it was still very much a building site. I loved the concept, and gladly made a very small contribution to their crowdfunding campaign, even though living in Basingstoke it'd be unlikely that Iād frequent the place often. This weekend, while taking a break near Chepstow, I thought Iād take a trip the extra few miles down the M4 and check the place out.
Everything Iād already read and seen on social media was spot on. The quite ornate entrance in an otherwise understated exterior leading in to a bright, spacious āindustrial chicā interior, with very unique decorative elements and a fantastically warm welcome. āTake a seat, anywhere you like, and we'll be right over!ā
This is not a mass-market, queue up, order your beverage, pay for it and then wait at the end of the counter coffee-shop. This is a quality table-service ācoffee-rantā (if that isnāt a real word it should be). Anyway, menu perused, coffee and food ordered, and sit back and chat with the manager and enjoy the atmosphere. A few minutes later my coffee arrived, closely followed by a huge omelette. They certainly donāt scrimp on portion sizes (but maybe thatās a Welsh thing...Iām a tourist after all).
Food consumed, and nature calls. Shelly, the manager points me in the direction of the strangely exuberant āFacilitiesā. Shelly grabbed me on my way back to my table. It seems that following yesterdayās wave of āpaying it forwardā some money had been left at the end of the day, and as Iād made a trip especially she wanted to use this to pay for my lunch. Delighted I accepted, but of course insisted that I would keep this ball rolling.
Anyway, I couldnāt visit BigMoose and not partake of a slice of cake (my bill this time) and was delivered a massive wedge of butterscotch and walnut cake. Barely able to move I grabbed a couple of bags of their newly available ground coffee and a photo of Shelly and āBest Baristaā (his words, not mine) John.
Left a happy customer, not just well fed and watered, but confident that my small contribution to the crowdfunding was money well spent. I'll certainly be back when Iām in the area and hope that my Cardiff/Glamorgan based friends get behind The BigMoose Coffee Co and the ethos of āLeaving the world better than we found itā.

I rarely feel compelled to write a review but this place is exceptional. The chef will create any combination of food you can think of - we were sitting by the kitchen and she kept making additional suggestions as she was creating our meal. All the staff are friendly and welcoming and seem genuinely interested in everyone who walks through the door. We feel like old friends already. Food and coffee both amazing. However the toilet is the absolute highlight, make sure you pay it a visit! Even the tap has a big smile on its face ļæ½ļæ½

Loved it! Love the concept of supporting charity & it delivered in every other area too. Staff's enthusiasm was a delight & nothing's too much trouble..Their coffee is really nice, decor as cool as a cucumber & for me it's a game changer in the independent cafe scene where Cardiff must be King as there's so many of them around! I always try to support them rather than the big chains but this one's great. Oh & as others have mentioned..pop in the loo!
Only negative is lack of signage outside..it's a bit tucked away in Fredrick St but sure they're on it ļæ½ļæ½ļæ½

Lovely to call back today. Called in this morning for a coffee with my daughter. Met the manager and had a nice chat with Jonathan and Chloe ( I think that was the young ladies name). Went back later for cake and a yummy smoothie. This will be my regular place when I'm in Cardiff. A fantastic, unique place with great company ethics.
