Simply outstanding.
I hired the upstairs function room for my wife's 40th birthday party and I couldn't have asked for a better service, from booking to room to the stumble into the taxi...!
The function room, or The Sam Warburton Suite, was laid out perfectly for us and we were able to decorate hours prior to the event without a problem. The room is incredibly spacious, with a well stocked bar and plenty of space for potential entertainment. In this instance, we hired a DJ for the evening.
The buffet was simply superb - we opted for Buffet B, a delicious mix of hot food including Chicken Tikka Skewers, Nachos, Mini Toad in the Hole, Goujons, Pork Pie, breaded mushrooms and Chips, along with freshly made sandwiches. There was also a vegetarian menu for some of the guests which was very swiftly polished off!
The bar staff were also incredibly polite and helpful and a credit to the establishment.
Thank you very much to Jon and all the Deri staff who helped make my wife's party such a fantastic one. We very highly recommend the service for anybody wishing to book a party.
We had our works Christmas party here this week. 50 of us had a fabulous evening, and the food was absolutely to die for, the Christmas Buffet is 100% recommended by all of us. The disco went down a treat with the whole team. It was an added extra that we were also able to join in with the pub quiz- we will be returning on a Tuesday evening again soon! Nice little pub on the outskirts of Cardiff. Very homely feel to the place . Great variety of nice dishes to choose from . The sea bass fillets are amazing ❤️
Popped in for a drink while out walking. Waited a while for drinks, the lady had to ask if we had ordered drinks checking that we had before bringing them to the table.
Drinks were worth the wait, the best iced latte I've ever had!
This is a really great pub! I can't understand the bad reviews? I've eaten here many times, both out on an evening with the girls, and just popping in on a sat afternoon on the dog walk with my family. The staff are always super friendly and welcoming and the food is really nice and good value. It's also a lovely environment, inside and out - the beer garden is huge and surely the nicest in the area. I would def recommend! Great job team!
There were 3 of us and we all had the Turkey Roast Dinner. The food was excellent and there was plenty of it...but it was only lukewarm. We did tell the lad who came to ask if everything was OK but decided to carry on with the meals - we are all quite quick eaters. Going back to the meals, the turkey was deliciously tender, the roast potatoes really crispy and all the other veg etc on the plates were very tasty and thoroughly enjoyable.
We had a lovely evening at the Deri celebrating Father’s Day with our daughter. The food was very good and all very reasonably priced. They had run out of sea bass fillets to go with my Mediterranean salad but the Manager, Olly, couldn’t have been more helpful and organised with the chef for me to have an alternative white fish. Will definitely be visiting again.
Staying in Whitchurch, we found this gem within 2 miles of our hotel. A proper local pub with great outdoor seating and friendly team. Had a fab evening, with drinks and delicious food. Lovely manageress, very welcoming…quiz night was fun, even though we didn’t win!!
Yet again, wonderful food and service tonight. My wife and I try to visit at least once / twice a month, and we usually have family get-togethers at The Deri. Special mention to the manageress, who resolved a query with the food immediately. Thanks again.

Visited after a walk with our dogs and honestly one of the best pubs we've visited! Food was excellent and the staff were lovely. Very dog friendly, with lots of other patrons stopping to say hello and give the dogs a fuss! Will definitely be visiting when we're next in the area!
