Juniper Place - Cardiff

The 5 starts where for our visit last year, absolutely fantastic evening food , cocktails and service. If I where to mark this year I would give 1 star as we left before being served, 3 4 minutes waiting inside the door, taken to table, 5 minutes or more where asked what drinks we want, we don't know because we don't have a drinks menu, when we did get 1 it was nowhere as good as last year food menu quite poor compared to last year. At this point we left,... we where so looking forward to our evening with you there as we had a fantastic time the year before, but we not to be.

Excellent decor, really quirky. The food was well priced and tasty apart from the rosti & bacon on our brunch was inedible due to being cooked to a crisp. Service, despite lots of staff working, was poor, they lacked organisation. We watched our latte being made and then it sat on the bar for a good 5 minutes before someone else brought it over. Equally our brunch sat in the hatch for a while before being served and so wasn't as hot as we'd have liked. However, I would come again, delicious overall.

Was my first time with Juniper Place and was not disappointed. Until now I was not aware of the restaurant and it’s history but was quickly informed by the well described and advertised back story to the restaurants long standing reputation and association with Gin. Tom was the lovely young man who served both me and my girlfriend and was a delight the entire time. He seemed genuinely interested in us as guests and certainly made the place feel welcoming. The interior is beautiful and is brimming with polished copper surfaces and recycled wood finishes, along with mirrors that extend all the rooms and make everywhere feel much larger. The stair well to the bathroom is almost like a dungeon and further creates this interesting and entertaining environment to explore when not enjoying your food. Speaking of which the food was excellent and I would easily say worth the price that is asked. I’ve also heard that they hold comedy and live music nights and I can’t wait to return to see them. I’m only sorry that on this occasion I couldn’t tip Tom. But please Tom if you read this, keep it up, you are a star and I wish you all the best.

Gorgeous place with friendly staff, lovely food and sensible prices. The whole restaurant, even down to to the toilets, is clean, tidy and beautifully presented. One star down only because they forgot to put our food order through. This was brought to our attention with huge apologies, an immediate discount offered on the whole bill and speedily rectified. Would 100% visit again next time I'm in Cardiff. We visited after going to the Castle, and had the pleasure of a beautiful table outside in the sun.

Well worth for what you pay, would recommend. The staff are great, smiles and the duty manager is very professional (litterally saw them in the morning then again in evening working a long shift and still had a big smile!) The decor is very good, its stylish and has a good amount of space so you feel more relaxed. Its a big place, with outdoor and 2 indoor spaces. Toilets are clean spacious and well lit. The food is full of flavour, well presented and a good size. Only thing i would mention is that as its on the main strip for Cardiff there is a lot of noise both outside an in. But its very lively, and you will be looked after.
