I love coming here. Mec have the best filter coffee menu in the city, with beans hailing from a range of roasters near and far; it’s always spot on. Also a bonus that Will is just one of the kindest (coffee) people around.

Really impressed with Will's knowledge and technical understanding of coffee notes. This is the coffee shop where you can't help but speak to Will (friendly guy) about the different coffees, learning something every time.
The joinery by Joe Carpenter is a finely crafted and designed.

Now regularly visit for the fantastic coffee and relaxed atmosphere. Will really knows his stuff and advises on different taste profiles to help guide you on a pour over to choose from their wide selection of beans.

Easiest 5 stars. The vibes were immaculate and the coffee was one of the best I've had in Cardiff. The barista was also really nice and clearly knowledgable about coffee. Can't believe I only just found out about this place. I'm definitely becoming a regular.

Seriously good coffee shop on Crwys Road. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is always very welcoming. The coffee is very reasonably priced, and yes, you guessed it, exceptionally well made. They allow well-behaved dogs which is another bonus. I never used to even like coffee that much... thanks Mec for getting me hooked!
While not immediately obvious, the Bulles Wine section towards the back of the shop is worth looking through. Ask the staff and they can talk you through their ever-changing roster of wines.

Mec is a small but perfectly formed cafe and one of the best places in Cardiff to get an artisanal coffee. The owner/barista Will is friendly and very knowledgeable about the coffee they use and the various brewing techniques. Also, it’s not just coffee that they excel at, the hot chocolate is one of the best my wife has ever tasted! I would highly recommend stopping by Mec!
