I visited Mattancherry this evening with a group of colleagues. They were able to accommodate us at short notice and were very welcoming. The food was excellent — I had the vegan thali which I would recommend. The outdoor seating area was lovely too. Service was great despite them being swamped with multiple groups from the same conference we were at. Highly recommend!

Excellent food choices, you could have a good family time. Cozy place to hangout with friends and family.Friendly staff, Mr Ramachandran will take care of your food needs, to suit your palate.Mainly Indian cuisine, their lunch thali, biryani and Malabar porota will give memories from India. Their garden dining is a perfect place for small party.

This is my 3rd time at Mattancherry in Cardiff and I’m still blown away by the quality of the food and the best service anywhere. The food is well spiced and you can adapt the level on request. Can’t recommend highly enough 👏

Go here, eat the Thali, have an excellent time. The taste of each curry showed the time that had been taken to cook them, and the freshly cooked bread and sharp pickles bring it all together. Great value, great staff, can’t recommend enough.

This restaurant is a gem, one may compare it to a diamond. The cuisine here is as excellent as ‘Diamonds’ by Rihanna, not as good as ‘Diamonds and Pearls’ by Prince but certainly miles better than ‘Diamonds’ by Sam Smith. This diamond (Mattancherry Canton) should be ‘forever!’ The customers that support them shine bright like a diamond, whether you are ‘white’ or ‘a girl’s best friend,’ or ‘from Sierra Leone’ or ‘on the water’, keep up the support. Good job Mattancherry Canton; just keep ‘dancing’ and please ‘Shine On You Crazy Diamond!’

Great food, and amazing service overall. A few issues - I got served the incorrect drink a couple of times and felt a bit cramped on the small tables. The staff were so nice though and the food was wonderful.

Absolutely amazing food. Friendly service. We both had the thali which was out of this world. Definitely be going again. One of the best currys in South Wales and I've been to quite a few

I read some reviews on this place and they were not lies, nor over exaggerated. This place really is different to other Indian restaurants that I’ve been to. I went there for a birthday meal with my family who fancied somewhere slightly different. On arrival we were greeted with a smiling face and asked where we might like to sit (inside or out) we chose to sit indoors. We were served drinks and placed orders for starters and mains. The menu really is different to other Indian restaurants as in there’s not 10 different types of madras or other curries. The menu is concise and is full of food that you won’t really get in other restaurants and is truly authentic. You really have to go and see for yourself the different foods on offer. We all ate really well and enjoyed every last mouthful. A really nice touch was the manager brought a cake over for us at the end to celebrate the birthday. They did this at their cost and thought for which I thought was a beautiful touch! Great place, amazing food, brilliant service. I will definitely be going again.. and so should you!

I visited as part of South Wales Curry Club and was delighted with the standard and quality of food and service. The chef coming out to meet us was a lovely touch.
Would definitely revisit.

This is a gem of a find in Canton! came with a large party on Friday night and we all enjoyed the evening immensely. Cozy interior with a newly added beer garden which will be a great space in the summer. I had the Baji Basket for Starter (divine) & the Mattancherry Vegetarian Special Thali for main (outstanding). Overall great value for money, large portion sizes and the staff were so friendly, we were made to feel really welcome. Will definitely be returning!

Hands down one of the best Indian restaurants in the Cardiff area, if not the best. If you wish to try authentic Kerala food, this is the place to be at!
5 star in every aspects - Customer service, food, the menu, ambience and 100% worth the money. Special thanks to the manager Ram for being an amazing host.
The Mattancherry outlet in Taunton might have more variety in their menu if you’re looking for Authentic Kerala options, but the menu here is amazing anyway - with the dishes all being exotic and yummy.
My picks: Fish fry starter, Biriyani (Chicken/ Lamb), Beef roast/ curry. The veg options are also probably the best in the town.

Its good restaurant. But in my opinion the the food is limited .The price is little high also. There is no parking for the restaurant but with in 0.1 mile there is a public car park so parking is not a problem .lot of space in the hotel . When the first view its look a small hotel but its a big hotel with lot of chair capacity . And one of the most important defect is there is no good hand wash place . We need to wash hand in the toilet and the toilet is also very bad .

It's one of the best Indian restaurants in cardiff. We taste chicken biryani, porotta, and beef curry. Delicious....!. Location is convenient. Good ambience with Indian music. The interior needs more attention.

The service here is exceptional, with genuine effort made to look after you. The Thalis are really good value for money, great quality, and really consistent. Highly recommend for a lunch or casual dinner.

Googled the restaurant as we were near to the Sophia gardens and little kochi was too busy for its regular customers.

One of the best Kerela food / South Indian restaurants in Cardiff
Service is great as well
