After bustling in the door with three months worth of luggage, the team greeted me with the warmest of welcomes. My order arrived promptly, presented in a neat brown box. The fish was perfectly cooked and the chips were in abundance. If you find yourself looking for a portion of Fish and Chips in Carlisle, look no further. Mammas will look after you.

Lovely little fish and chip restaurant. Very glad we found it, as was our little dachshund - who was luckily given a bonus treat by the owner! Great fresh food, the fish was nice and moist, the batter crisp. Good chips. Definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting good food at good value for money.

Lovely visit to your restaurant this afternoon. Your food was amazing and even better that it was Gluten Free! Your staff were kind, thoughtful and accommodating for the young person I was supporting in the community with Autism. You included her in the visit and was a great atmosphere to be in. Was passing through Carlisle and really fancied fish and chips. Stumbled into this place and the brother serving was a true gentlemen. The fish and chips was honestly one of the best I've had. The tartar sauce better than the stuff in most places! Thank you sir! I asked if same oil was used for the meats. The gentleman instantly understood my dietary requirements (unlike most places).

After a day out with my son. We went to mammas for tea. Although the owner closed at 6pm and we didn't arrive until 6.05pm, he opened his doors and said that he would cook for us. As long as we didn't mind waiting while he cooked. What can i say the wait was worth every second. I offered to take it away so he could close up. He wouldn't have any of it he laid a table and made myself and my son feel comfortable and welcome. When the food arrived i was astounded at the quality and freshness of the meal. Hands down the best batter i have ever tasted. Flaky fish, perfect chips. Nothing was left apart from a tip and a guarantee to return. I can honestly say i have never enjoyed fish and chips as much. A feeling that my son agreed on. Thanks again and we will see you soon
