A snapshot of 'transport transience'! Nearly everyone here is in transit yet still the tranquility is curiously addictive. The choice of music is personal and unobtrusive, the food (check availability) is simple but well presented, enough to slate the thirst (draught beers as well as the usual) and the hunger before the delights of 'coach c and the delicious (!) hot and cold snacks'. There's still a need for GNER fruit cake but I digress. Service is swift and pleasant, Egg roll just right, and for those who delight in dead flesh their bacon rolls are excellent. For a transport 'hub' prices are also good. I never really know the opening times, but when they are (open) the wait has been worth it after a long Avanti journey, or before the return. Environment is a little frayed but PLEASE don't change it. Staff are lovely and professional. All in all a good place.

Loved the venue. My train was cancelled so had a cheeky beer 🍺 and a panini. Nice to see an Independent business for a change. Paying was really tasty, loads of options for fillings including a Build your own option. Staff were really lovely and beer was good, definitely appreciated given the heatwave.

A cosy little bar on the platform in Carlisle Station that I presume used to be the old waiting room is worth a visit to stop by while you wait for your train. It is quite pricey though, the mulled wine I had was £6.50 but to be honest if I had more time before my train I probably would have had another! 😄
