Lovely family run cafe. Good hearty food for very little money. Ulster fry up was brilliant as was the boiled ham and eggs on toast.

Good fun night as Penylins hosted an open mic night. A free beer for the performers and some sandwiches half way through. Very friendly and a real homely feel to the place. Want to go back and try the food.

Lovely comfortable and cozy two floor cafe/pub! Cakes to die for the food is lovely and well prepared the bar staff cant help enough and the lady of the place lyn robinson is a warm irish hard working person .Lyn is trying so hard to keep this place going credit is due to her do please drop in "penylins"lowther street carlisle you wont regret it Enjoy!!

Amazing Food so nice to have something unique in carlisle that isnt the same old cafe Food nowadays . If you want Fresh unique Food that is different to most cafes this is the place .Lovely Homemade Irish Food the Farls are amazing and all the produce was quality. It was just so nice to go to this cafe and to have something different the service was Friendly and the place was spotless clean .

Guinness cake to die for! And lemon meringue pie like my old ex mother in law used to make. The craic is excellent, the soda farls take me back to childhood Sunday breakfasts and I'm going to get back to one of the music nights shortly!

After searching for a cafe with fresh, decent food, thanks to the help of the owner, I've finally found my favorite cafe in Carlisle! Polite staff, food is fresh and amazing, I never leave hungry or disappointed. Well worth trying

Food wise the quality is freshly made friendly customer service, you can pay next time based on trust only for regular well known customers authority only from management. Please don't ask to pay the next day. Don't miss the items on the Xmas menu not to be missed. I gave it 4 Stars cos it is fairly new . Miss the Pub quiz tonight give it a miss.
