Squires Loft Cheltenham

Quite an enjoyable evening; staff were lovely, the interior is nice, and the entrees were brought out very quickly (although it was quiet when we were there). The set menus are decent value, although the main meal steak was a little underwhelming. The Eye Fillet was cooked perfectly, but the meat was not very tender - I dont think quite deserved its $50 price tag, and the sauce had a film on it from sitting under the heat lamps too long. Sticky date dessert was dry, and wasn't saved by the tasty sauce and ice-cream. Might come back and try a Wagyu, but not right away

Have dined in and had takeaways multiple times here and can say that this is one of the best steak house I’ve been to. The customer service and food are excellent, steaks are always cooked perfectly to medium rare as I prefer. Very friendly service and would highly recommend you to try the Wagyu eye fillet.

WHAT! A! FEED! A favourite venue of my friends and I, don't expect a pot and parma for $20 but if you have a special occasion or just want to treat yourself Squire's is the place. The staff are always lovely and accommodating, the ribs are my personal pick Pork or Beef doesn't matter it's all good.

I came with a group of friends a few weeks ago. We were initially "greeted" by a guy who may be the owner, with arrogance and rudeness. It was lucky we were composed enough to go along with this guys abruptness. The ribs were great. I still feel they're the best in Melbourne. I decided to try one of their new high end steaks. Unfortunately it was overcooked. I believe a lot of their sauces have the same base. I got the blue cheese. But it tasted a lot like the creamy garlic. Their waiters were great. Much more accommodating than the guy who acted like he was the centre of the universe. Still four stars despite the rudeness in the beginning.

Extremely disappointed with both service and food. My partner and I went there expecting exceptional customer service and received nothing but rudeness and a lack of attention to detail. Steak was not cooked how requested and instructions on take away food was not followed through on. Staff were yelling at each other right next to our table making it hard to have a peaceful meal. We called after our meal to give our feedback and the manager was rude and not even apologetic. He then called back and offered a voucher which was meant to be sent to our house however it was never received. Overall there is clearly no organisation at this restaurant, the food took over an hour and was not even cooked to how we requested it. Staff and management lack customer service ability and make it an uncomfortable environment. Unfortunately I will not be returning or recommending this restaurant to anyone as I would never wish our experience upon anyone else. To spend over $80 on a dinner after a hard day of work and not be rewarded with food worth that expense is not only disappointing but quite frankly disrespectful. Staff need to be trained better and listen properly when ordering so they don’t need to come back multiple times to confirm order and manager needs to work on his customer service ability as he was not only argumentative with our feedback but was also aggressive and plainly just rude. Do not come here if you’re looking for a meal that is worth your money as you will not be receiving your moneys worth within both the food quality and customer service.
