Absolutely fantastic. Food was excellent and the portion sizes are huge. The staff were very friendly and attentive, made my wife and I feel very welcome. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Chester. We will certainly visit again 🍕🇮🇹
One of the finest and authentic Italian restaurants around. Menu stacked full of choice and service was spot on. All staff were super friendly and every single waiter stopped and said thank you on our way out. What a superb dining experience. Chester is very lucky to have such a gorgeous restaurant
Best Italian Restaurant in the world!!
Located just near Chester Cathedral.
Not really sure why this restaurant isn't well updated on zomato..
Have tried most of the dishes but here are the few favourites listed below:-
Funghi della Casa V - Juicy Breaded mushrooms stuffed with garlic butter and oven baked.
Calzone Piccante - Folded pizza filled with tomatoes, cheese, ham and mushrooms, pepperoni & chilli peppers.
Pollo Gamberetti - Chicken breast poached in white wine with prawns, garlic, cream, cherry tomatoes and parsley.
Me and my other half ate here on a busy Saturday night. The restaurant was full to bursting, which is always a good sign. The menu is substantial. It took us a while to pick with so much choice. I had the anchovie pasta and my partner had the seafood tagliatelle. Both were very nicely cooked and the pasta was al dente. If I had one complaint, both dishes had too much sauce than I would have liked but the British palate is known to like their meals wet. The pasta and pizza menu is great value. Having seen a few people order from the meat and fish menu, I don't think I'd bother. They all just seemed to come with a side of boiled veg. Very uninspired. All in all I liked this place and will go back. It's rustic charm, busy atmosphere, fast service, and hearty food has won me over.
Great service great food - that simple! Good sized portions and friendly faces. First time we've been here and won't be the last
Great food, great atmosphere, very busy, best to book for Saturday evening. Very enjoyable. Good value too.
Favourite place to eat in Chester, Carl Hall, stick to big mac's mate
This is a great place to eat. Fantastic food, great staff and great service. Really good value and atmosphere. 5 star.
SERGIOS. Visiting Chester for the first time, Ristorante Sergio came highly recommended. It proved to be the perfect Italian restaurant. The main course was Taglioni Mari e Monte. It was absolutely delicious full of taste and scrummy, followed by Blackout Cake which included 6 different types of chocolate, a sweet to die for. All Italian meals should end with Limoncello, a lemon liqueur, this limoncello was made in house, excellent !!!
The meal complete with wine and drinks was comparable with any London restaurant.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Superb best in Chester. Well done giani.
Man the bruschetta napolena is phenominal!!!!!!!!the fussilli alla millanse is so tasty I dream about it yum yum yum!!!!!!!!!! Best Italian in Chester and proper food not fancy Italian like picolinos.
Incredibly friendly Pizza & Pasta eatery with a substantial traditional Italian menu as well if you hanker for more than peasant food. Prices compare favourably with the chains but you get much more. Consistency can be a bit erratic but that's the fun of cooking in a family business where food is not prepared to a spreadsheet formula by beancounters. Note that it's now called Ristorante Sergio & for Pizza, I never go anywhere else in Chester.

Absolutely loved the atmosphere and vibe here, it felt very authentic Italian! The service was quick and extremely friendly. To top it off, the food was absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend booking as there were people waiting and people entering the restaurant and told there would be a 30 minute wait - this was on a Thursday evening.
This review is base on city center restaurants. Visited early evening Wednesday, the place was almost full. The ambience was good- with an authentic feel, the food delicious and service prompt. We were greeted in Italian- with many of the staff being such. I always want restaurant food to be better than I cook at home...and happily it was.
I booked this place for my wife's birthday dinner and must say it was worth every penny. The staff were exceptional and a laugh. They had charisma and would chat if you wanted. They really go the extra mile. The food was to die for and a real true taste of Italy. The decor felt like you was in Italy on the med or adriatic. Amazing selection of drinks and food. There is literally something for everyone. You deffo need to book in advance, by a few weeks or as early as you can as you just won't get a table as a walk in if your passing. I highly recommend to everyone to come visit this place.
Had a wonderful dinner here. This is a fantastic little Italian restaurant.
The portions were a good size for a great price and everything came out super quickly.
We had the caprese salad and bruschetta to start and then the calzone and prosciutto pizzas.
The only small thing I will say is that due to the closeness of other tables it is very loud, especially if there are a lot of birthdays. We were ok with this but it's something to note if you get overwhelmed by sound easily or want a quiet dinner to talk.
Traditional Italian recommended word of mouth, didn't disappoint a little set back off the main street and some steps , didn't see any wheelchair access though. Friendly happy staff, asked if we had an allergens before our order was taken, lots of choice and we liked how you could see the food being prepared/cooked. We did have starters also.
Recommended by my tutor. Didn’t come with any particular expectations, but it turned out to be amazing! Excellent food and service! Larrrrge portions with reasonable prices :) Takes about 20 mins to serve the dishes.
Zucchine Ripiene is super warm and tender ❤️ Roasted courgette filled and topped with different cheeses. The sauce was light but really good.
Tagliolini Mare e Monti blended the taste of mushroom, scampi, cream and tomato perfectly together. Could be better if it has a bit less salt.
Tiramisu is soft, and not too much sugar - just about the right. Really love the mascarpone cheese!
Delicious Italian, great wine selection, excellent service & lively, family atmosphere. Blackout chocolate cake highly recommended
Heard great things about Sergio's and happy to say that they were all true.. lovely welcoming staff lovely atmosphere and more importantly great delicious food..I'm definitely going to be visiting again and again and again.
Been coming here for years now, is a brilliant Italian restaurant with delicious food at great prices. The atmosphere is always amazing here too with friendly staff.
Would recommend to anyone looking for a lovely meal out.
You know its a good place to eat when the taxi drivers dropping you off AND picking you up afterwards both rate the place as their favourite restaurant. Really enjoyed the atmosphere here and the food was lovely. Attention and service was spot on and the wines were excellent. Our booking of 8 on a busy Saturday evening all said the same thing as well. We all left very happy having had a fantastic experience.
