We love this place and visit whenever we come up to Chester. Our dogs love it and it's so nice to be welcomed in with them. Great staff, food, beer and music. Thanks for making our Easter weekend such fun.
Love it here!! Visited yesterday during the gorgeous weather and were treated very well by the staff. The staff were very attentive to my young girls too.

Excellent venue, great choice of both food and drink, dog friendly. Free doggy dinner if you order a roast dinner. Welcomed our 3 month old Doberman puppy, Bram, on his first visit to Chester.

A very cool bar we chanced upon due to them having a beer garden. Bar staff were super friendly and had a massive selection of spirits and draught. Dog friendly (as most of Chester seems to be) only adds to the experience. Definitely will visit again in the future!
December 2022: good selection of ales. Keg, cask, bottles and ciders. Welcoming friendly atmosphere. Could do with more seating. Incence burners set a lovely Winter feeling. Tasters and beer flights available. Dog friendly. Often overlooked. Is understated and well worth an amble down the side street on Commonhall Street, just off Bridge Street. Formerly called The Weighing Room, and before that, The Pelican. Owned by hester Race Company.
Originally an old mill and Weighing Room, situated on Commonhall Street, which was named after an early type of court called the Commonhall of Pleas. The street was built in the 13th Century.

Really like this bar, cool decor, the staff are all helpful and lovely. Cool and large variety of beers available! The menu is fairly small but full of lots of things I love, we had the sharing board and the haloumi fries were AMAZING!! Highly recommend this bar ☺️
The kerb appeal is very good with plants and large windows. Quite welcoming as you enter to the sound of live music. The bar area is enticing with lots of choice of ales and cider. The staff were very welcoming and happy to help. The atmosphere was great with baseball on the tv. Seems down to earth and easy going place.

Highly recommend this place for a night out, amazing atmosphere here and the staff were great. Also it was nice to see a different variety of drinks here. Although we didn't use it on this visit, there is a ping pong table out back in the garden area.
