Great Wall Chinese Restaurant

Huh... The negative reviews for here surprise me. I've been getting take out and delivery from here for over ten years and although the food quality varies at times I feel it's always above average for taste. I really like the food from here and I recently took a few friends here and they really enjoyed the Lo Mein. I don't get anything fancy though. Usually just egg rolls or shrimp rolls, pork fried rice, Sweet and sour chicken etc. Still, I never got a bad meal here and service was always good if not exceptional and the prices are average for this type of food. A very good value and a good meal, so a solid 4 stars from me.

The lady working behind the counter acted as if she didn't want to take my order. Three other people came shortly after me and they had to ask her twice to take their orders. The lady behind the counter seemed to have a attitude and was very unpleasant. I kind of got the impression that she didn't like black people. Won't be going back.

I am very particular about my food especially the smell. I ordered a combination platter with shrimp fried rice and vegetable lo mein, I asked them to make it a little spicy. There was a slight odd odor upon opening the container I prayed and with hesitation I decided to tasted the food. The rice taste old as if it was left out overnight. I decided to returned the food only for the owner to claim it was the spicy flavor I requested that was causing the odor and refusing to give me money back. We as community should not allow restaurants to service us any old thing we have the right to a decent meal especially when we are spending our hard earned money. I will be report them to the health inspector and I will continue to tell others about the establishment and their practices.

Food is good but the overall customer service terrible. When I was in the store they just stared at me and it took the lady 15mins to get my order. Mind you I’m the only one in the store... not only that when I ordered for delivery the man that came did not get out the car and had me walk to his car with the window up saying $12.75. Honestly from my experience they seem a little prejudice of blacks and you can see it from their interactions.... I would recommend them to either better their customer service and take away their biases when it comes to serving people.

Although I reside in DE I grew up eating food from here and still say they have the best fried chicken in their field and I still grab food from here on occasion... No other asian cuisine themed restaurant can beat their fried chicken..... Wish they were on Door Dash or some type of delivery service and accepted credit but I guess they are doing what works for them
