Reviews of Pips Chips

Everyone has their favourite chippie and claim the fish is the best. Let me tell you, as far as the wife and I are concerned, Pip's haddock is sublime. Batter is lovely, cooked in great oil and fish is a clean meaty fillet. I've had some great fish all over our area but to me, for now, Pip's Chips are league leaders.

By far a fantastic chippy hubby eats meat I'm a vegetarian and we travel 1hr30 to eat from here because they cater for vegetarians and we message ETA to them and they have the vegetarian fryer on ready for our arrival. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend visiting for your chippy dinner if in cleethorpes

Wow, we have just had fish and chips from Pips for the first time, could not fault, batter was lovely and crispy, fish nice, not watery. Still hot when we got home. I was originally going to have Savaloy as I haven't had one in ages but a previous customer had been in a brought all 8, so they must be good lol,but we have been assured they will have some for me next time. We rate this 10/10

After leaving louth hospital, we decided to drive to pips in grimsby for some fish and chips. Well let's say they were the best fish and chips we've had in a long while we also had some cod cheeks which were delicious so was the free onion ring and Irish curry. We wont be long before we visit again.

We were heading to Cleethorpes on Saturday for fish and chips at Papa's. Massive traffic and we noticed Pip's with a convenient parking space outside. As there are tables and chairs outside and it was a lovely day we decided to give it a try. Oh my, beautiful, skinned fish, crispy chips, all presented in a nice box lined with hygienic paper and wooden cutlery. The lovely couple running the chippy said that they paid extra for high grade fish and I would say it was well worth it. There was also a specials board (see photo). They also serve traditional Yorkshire fish patties, the type with 2 slices of potato with fish in between, so bought a couple to bring home. All in all a really great chippy!

Once again Pips has knocked it out of the park like they always do, homemade cheese sauce is best I’ve ever had by far. Chips are just perfect, the fish as always is light and fluffy while being crispy, fish cake is just amazing! Pips has made every other chip shop look rubbish will always be going to Pips from now on

First time at Pip's. Heard really good things and also see the reviewer who sat outside with his table and chair. Menu is easy to ready and looks amazing what's on offer. We tried the mushy pea fritter because I love mushy peas and scraps together so I knew I would love that. Tried the haggis fritter and that was great also? We celebrate burns night every year so haggis is much a staple so we knew we woulc like that. I bought my boy the Lincolnshire sausage battered with chips and got me and my fella regular size haddock and chips, tried that with a portion of cheese sauce and the irish curry. All portions were a good size infact I could not even finish it all and that along with half of the haggis and mushy pea fritter. Even the kitten enjoyed the fish and haggis. We are definitely coming back for more. Hopefully this weekend as my eldest boy wants to try them all too 😁🥰🤣 sorry we didn't get pictures but will try next time x

What a find! Little week in Cleethorpes so fish n chips is a must and there's lots to choose from around here of course. Google maps found me this diamond. Superb Haddock, chips, mushys and curry. Nicest I've had for a long time. Staff are really nice and friendly as well. You will not be disappointed if you get your fish n chips here.

After checking out reviews, gave this place a try last night. I'm so happy, as these really are the best haddock and chip I've had in years. The haddock was very white and fresh with lovely light batter, chips cooked to perfection and the spicy Irish curry was very tasty. The price was very good just over £20 for 2 small haddock with 2 small chips regular haddock with regular chips large, peas and spicy Irish curry. All cooked to order and nicely presented in boxes. Keep up the good work 👏, will definitely be back 👍

Fortunate to park outside of Pip`s before the game today. Before travelling back to Hartlepool, we decided to celebrate our win (Sorry !) with a large haddock `n` chips. Beautiful, fresh, clean white chunky fillets matched with perfectly cooked chips. Great portions, good value, brilliant taste and a lovely friendly personal service from the staff to round off. Highly recommended and hope to return next season (if we survive!). Well done, especially as Good Friday is really busy, and you didn`t rush through the frying - quality first!
