Greenstead Fish And Chips

Used this place for the first time and would highly recommend. I ordered sausage in batter, which is the best I've ever had. The batter was light, fluffy and the sausage cooked perfectly. The chips were freshly cooked, not reheated and really moist and fluffy. Thank you to the friendly staff and of course the cook for a yummy meal. We will definitely see you again 👍

Ordered Medium Chips, Medium chips and Two chicken pieces. I went here because of a trip advisor review that called this the 'best fried chicken in Colchester'. I AGREE!!! the chicken was so crispy and Juicy, nothing, NO FAST FOOD FRIED CHICKEN IN THE UK COMES CLOSE. the flavour is throughout the chicken, BIG sizes that filled me, but immediately got me craving more. I can't recommend more. The fish and chips were great too, flaky and crispy fish that had the skin on and added to the crispiness. MY new fav fish and chips place. That chicken is something else!

Probably the best fish and chips shop in town in terms of quality of food. Slightly spartan eating area, but you can eat in for no extra cost. Chip portions are slightly smaller than some other places, but they are also slightly cheaper. Generally I find that a meal here will be competitively priced. Staff are friendly. Not sure the opening hours listed on Google are correct: I am not sure whether the shop is open non-stop or if it closes at some point in the afternoon - will check on my next visit.
