A pleasant stay at The Flag Inn Wivenhoe. The room was clean and comfy, and the staff came over to show me around. Continental breakfast was included. Wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Wivenhoe!

Stayed for a night for business in the area of Colchester.
The rooms were beautifully laid out and well equipped with alarm clocks that double as wireless chargers, a coffee machine, plenty of storage and air-conditioning. The bed was extremely comfortable! Dare I say I got a better night's sleep than my own bed.
The on site restaurant had amazing food and service, I personally recommend the Flag pie or Flag burger. A fair but reasonable selection of food options of which can be gluten free.
Parking around the back of the property was big enough to fit a 3.5t long wheel based van without issue.
Additionally I forgot to take my charger and had left it in my room and it was posted back to myself so A* for customer service!
Would highly recommend this location to businesses small or large and for those looking to stay near Colchester without paying inner city prices.
Will definitely keep this location in mind if I am ever traveling in the area personally.

Couldn't recommend the hotel or restaurant highly enough. Beautiful decor, clean, modern and comfortable. The staff couldn't have done any more for us, they went above and beyond.
Food amazing too! Try the chicken curry burger, it is to die for!

The staff were all very friendly and made us feel super welcome. The restaurant was great with delicious food and very comprehensive bar. The rooms were modern, clean and cosy, making it very comfortable and relaxing. Hope to be back soon.

Easily the nicest place to eat and chill in Colchester and Wivenhoe area. Food is always great. A little pricey but worth it. Nice atmosphere and staff are lovely!

We love this place. Had an amazing Sunday lunch here about six months back and was really impressed with everything and everyone, so when we were back in lovely Wivenhoe we based ourselves here for the weekend.
Beautiful people, food and rooms. The perfect place for a short break and really good value. We’ll be back 😎

Not usually a fan of roast dinners in pubs, which are often not good quality compared with home cooked. I was therefore very happy to be surprised at how good the roast dinner was at this pub and would have it again! :) Staff were also exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Stayed here for two nights in early July. Could accommodate me at short notice in beautiful room. Great service and friendly staff at check in and breakfast both mornings. Great location for access to essex Uni and colchester with amazing views over the countryside.
