I liked this pub very much. We had dinner with friends and the staff were very friendly. They told us that the place was busy and that there would be a wait...not bad at all and the food was worth the wait. Good food, good drink and a great atmosphere. I would want to eat here again if in the area.

Had an immense Sunday lunch here. Beautifully cooked with lovely fresh vegetables and a rich gravy. My 13 year old daughter, who isn't a big eater went for children's roast option and it was more than enough. My husband is vegetarian and there was only a nut roast on the menu. Unfortunately he can't have this because my daughter is allergic to nuts and we have to be mindful of what we eat. We explained this to the staff who were happy to have a word with the chef. My husband was able to have a vegetable Wellington instead, which he really enjoyed.

The new inn was very accommodating for our large party of 20 and gave us our own space in the conservatory. We visited on a hot day and the staff ensured the room was well ventilated by opening all windows and doors were to provide a breeze. The french doors opened onto a beer garden with a play area for the children. All of the staff went above and beyond to ensure a great 40th birthday celebration for our friend. They catered to all our dietary requirements, with the chef personally speaking to us, which included vegetarian, gluten free and peanut allergy. The food looked and tasted amazing. We would highly recommend and would love to visit again when we return to the forest of dean.
