We stayed here for one night on our way home from Brecon and absolutely loved it. Beautiful, well kept grounds, welcoming hosts, great pub and amazing campsite right next to the river, perfect for me to relax while my husband did some fishing. Really loved it, despite not usually being one to visit a site more than once we have booked again for next weekend.
We visited by chance, a group of 20 on a charity cycle ride in need of a break. The landlord and landlady were wonderfully welcoming and helpful. Thank you so much. Lovely little pub.
Can't fault this historic pub and camping site. right next to the river.our little jack Russell loved it getting the small rocks out.and camp fires allowed .lovely location .owners so friendly and welcoming.food was very tasty and reasonably priced.good selection of ales behind the bar.very quite and tranquil .locals very welcoming .defiantly returning.
Good old Welsh pub didn’t fancy cooking tonight so 1st visit was not disappointed
Nice open log fire gave warm welcome
Had sirloin steak and chips just what the Doctor ordered
Maggie landlady friendly and welcoming sat talking to her while she did her knitting
Would recommend this dont just drive past
Car park at rear
Fantastic little campsite next to the river Maggie & Co very welcoming and friendly, ideal for our first visit to North Wales. The food in the pub was great, fresh cooked and served with a smile and plenty of chat, no need to rush here ! very well priced, as was the beer . A smashing little old pub, full of character, and real log fires, some would call it 'tired' , but it is as it should be in my opinion, does not need modernisation , ever. If you want breakfast, order the night before and it will be served nice and fresh at a time you choose in the morning, all the essentials of an excellent fry up. The campsite is very basic, but what more do you need in such a gorgeous location ? nothing ! Plenty of space to pitch up/park , no designated pitches , and you can have campfires and bbq's right next to your tent/campervan . If peace and quiet is your thing, this is the place to go , would recommend to anybody, so if you get the chance, give it a go :-)
I had the best two nights over August bank holiday weekend camping at the crown . The owners and staff were warm , welcoming and helpful and the location is amazing . There were no showers but I washed in the river and the food in the pub was fantastic. The atmosphere there is brilliant and we watched the village soap box derby when we were there which was fun and we also had a lovely walk along the river Alwen with our dog . Dogs are welcome and we met plenty . It’s a great place for couples and families and the locals are great . I can’t wait to go again , I’d recommend it to everyone !
Lovely spot in Conway lovely pub friendly staff good food brilliant wild camp site by river. Have cross ford to get to site but no problems. Very dog friendly
1st time visit for us, and found it friendly and food was good and value for money.
Great camping pitch right by the stream.
Maggie, Alan, Tom and Alex, we're friendly and took the time to get to know us and the kids.
Will definately go back soon.
Dog friendly campsite and pub too, which is ideal.
Would recommend to anyone.
Phone signal ain't good at all unless your on Vodafone or EE.
Free Wi-Fi in the pub, which keeps the kids quiet with ipads/tablets etc and enables you to keep in touch with family via social media, if your phone services is down.
8/10 on this occasion only to the fact that there's not much for young children to keep them entertained.
Thanks guys x

100% recommend this camp site, great swimming (depending on weather) for the kids, fishing is good people lovely. Did not eat in the pub however did have plenty of drinks, price good and very friendly. Will be returning love this kind of camping.
We had passed this pub on our trips out, and thought it looked nice, so on our last evening we decided to pay a visit. We received a warm welcome. Apart from us there were just a few locals in the pub. We sat in a very nice garden, as we had three dogs with us, although the landlady had said we could take the dogs inside if we wished. The service was good, we were waited on by various people, who were all very friendly. There was quite a lot of choice on the menu. The food however was disappointing. It was well cooked and hot, but clearly microwaved and from frozen. My husband's sausages did not look like traditional Cumberland, but were more like frozen Wall's sausages. His mash was a small amount of lumpy looking yellow stuff.Frozen peas, frozen chips. Our friend really wasn't sure what to say when we asked him how his macaroni cheese was. It was a shame the food was disappointing,as because of the nice setting and friendly welcome, we really wanted to like this pub. I would advise the landlady to continue with the friendly welcome and the up keep of their lovely garden, but to introduce cooking with some fresh ingredients. Perhaps reduce the amount on the menu, so that there maybe less choice, but what there is can be of a better quality. The price was very reasonable, so they have got that right.
We camped overnight in our camper van, peaceful and picturesque site next to the river. Maggie and Brian both very helpful and welcoming. Food (evening meal and breakfast) both meals excellent. Dog friendly. Would highly recommend.
Recently re-discovered this gem of a place which is under (fairly) new management and had such a lovely time that we have been back on a regular basis. Perfect for escaping city life to a beautiful location, peace & tranquility abound! Added to this are the wonderful family running the pub & campsite, so friendly & hospitable, the excellent local ales (my husband will vouch for this), gorgeous home cooked meals and a warm friendly atmosphere in the pub. This is fast becoming one of our favourite places & can't recommend highly enough, thanks to Maggie, Brian, Tom & Alex.
We visited the Crown for the bank holiday and had a lovely time. Very warm welcome from Maggie when we arrived. Fabulous pitch by the river. Great pub with a choice of local real ales. All were beautiful. Good food. Friendly local pub with great atmosphere. The family run site could not be better. We loved it and cant wait to go back. Thank you Maggie Brian Alex and Tom.
Just wanted to leave a review after such a lovely meal here. Dropped in unplanned with the family and glad we did. Traditional warm and friendly we thought. Fish Pie and Chicken Madras were superb. Went had a lovely time.
Lovely little quirky camp site, Maggie the land lady really makes you feel welcome. We’ll definitely be going back for another weekend stay this year.
Great place, lovely pub food and ales with friendly owners and locals
Pub Camping in a small basic campsite reached across a Ford with steps direct to the Beer Garden (and loos)
No Showers or Washing Up facilities but a river to play in and firepits!

Spent a weekend camping here. Such a beautiful, quiet place. My daughter loved playing in the river. Camping was really good value with tokens to spend in the pub. The campsite was very basic but roomy, lovely and there were fire pits. We ate in the pub on Friday night. Food was delicious and large portions. The beer was fabulous - really enjoyed their own Jewel n the Crown. Had a lovely weekend and would visit again.
