A lovely village cafe which is so much more. The solid, high-quality menu is always accompanied by an offering of specials as well as a range of cakes, meaning that you always have the opportunity to have either a tried and tested favourite or something new. The food is always cooked perfectly and beautifully presented. Favourites have to include the Benny 22, mushrooms and stilton, and, of course, the cinnamon buns.
I love this cafe! Gorgeous food and drinks, lovely cafe space and delightful people.
The coffee is great (local St Martins beans) and as everyone else says, all ingredients are locally sourced. They don’t have soya milk but that’s because it can’t be sourced locally or sustainably - their local oat milk is lovely and they have other non dairy options.
Great selection of fresh baked cakes and goodies, including 3-4 gluten free and 3-4 vegan options every day - such a refreshing change from the usual brownie/flapjack!
This is an absolute fave and I will keep coming back.
One of our favourite locations for breakfast.
And the coffee is superb too
Not forgetting their famous Viennese Swirl biscuits.
Make a visit especially this august during Yarn bomb month.
Fantastic dining experience! One of our kids favourite places to grab lunch. They do a mean breakfast too. I can't recommend going here enough. Top service!
We found this gem of place as we’d wanted a special brekkie before dropping our girl at Uni. Having seen the amazing reviews, we gave it go - we weren’t disappointed. What can I say other than superb! Great coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, attentive staff, lovely ambiance - but most of all we loved the quality of the produce all sourced locally, even down to the condiments. All the little
attention to detail that makes the whole experience top notch! We even stocked her up on delicious, home made cakes before we left. It’s even dog friendly with a doggie menu!! Really couldn’t recommend this wonderful little place highly enough!
Genuinely one of the best breakfast spots in Leicestershire. The food is homemade or locally sourced and always delicious! Terry one of the owners and their team are always delightful. Very dog friendly in there too. The milkshakes and fresh bakes (especially cinnamon buns) are also incredible. Can't say a bad word about this place, love it here!
We were on our way to Rutland and happened, luckily, to drive past the Cook in the Nook. Such a brilliant find. It was busy, always a good sign, and we had an excellent, delicious lunch. Highly recommended. Just wish it was closer to where we live!
Delicious food and drinks, really nice cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Really enjoyed the food. Two brie and caramelised onion toasties with added bacon Including two coke zeros it totalled £27, which in all honesty I think is a little steep.
The price could be forgiven if the service was swift, or the service could be forgiven if it was cheaper, but on this occasion it took 30 mins for our food to arrive & the cost was still £27. The cafe was at around 50% capacity. Maybe it was just an off day.
Food I've rated as a 5*, but the whole package only a 4.
5 star at the same cost if food is served in a timely manner 🙏
What a lovely find. I just had coffee and a sausage roll but both delicious. Will definitely go back for lunch and their breakfasts look good too.
