La Scarpetta

The pasta was really good, i am a big fan of pasta with pesto, and the one they did was the best one i tasted in a long time, they also do really good cocktails, not saturated with alcohol like in other places. The staff on the floor and the kitchen are really friendly. While my visit there had many guests, the music wasn't loud and i still enjoyed my conversation. I would suggest giving it a visit!

First time here but clearly a popular restaurant. Our starters were a bit late arriving but they offered us free drinks to make up for that so that's fine, and they were very busy. Food was delicious, I had mussels followed by a seafood pasta. We all thought the food was excellent. Too full for dessert, but what went past us also looked very nice.

Lo Zafferano is a New Restaurant on the site of the now closed La Scarpetta. Lo Zafferano opened its doors on the 7 November 2022 with a new manager and head chef (who are also the new owners!). All reviews before this date should be disregarded! We had a really enjoyable evening here tonight... we started with a couple of excellent Negroni cocktails and some great homemade focaccia. We shared a starter of grilled squid with salami which was great, the squid being very tender. My calves liver was perfect: really thin slices, not overcooked with a balanced sauce with onions. My wife had the mixed grilled fish which was deftly cooked, lightly seasoned and had a great variety! We finished by sharing a peice of their homemade Tres Leche cake with Italian meringue - stunning! A small but perfectly formed wine list is available and a comprehensive cocktail menu as well. Warm, genuine and friendly service and the pride of the 2 owners was very evident! Highly recommended and Lo Zafferano deserves to be a success!
