The wing yip centre alone is something extraordinary but last time I visited the centre I got a take away here and was delicious! Definitely will try a dine in experience soon

I no longer live in Croydon (nor the UK for that matter), but whenever I do pass through, I make sure I visit one of my most favourite restaurants *ever* - the Tai Tung on Purley Way! It is by far, in my opinion, one of the best Chinese restaurants outside of London's Chinatown. It is so popular, that even the Chinese community who live within reach, all come flocking for a sumptuous feast!
Whenever I have been there it has always been very busy and despite this, the staff are always accommodating - usually ushering the overflow of patrons upstairs at their peak times.
Service is fast and efficient - two of us once were in, fed, watered and out again in 30 minutes!
I salivate every time I think of the food...though tend to stick to my own personal favourites unless I'm with a party and we have a 'tasting' banquet, which enables me to try out other delicacies. Anyway, I can wholeheartedly vouch for the Dim Sum selection, Cantonese Roast Duck, the Crispy Belly Pork, the Char Siu Pork, the Squid in Chilli & Salt and the Cantonese Sizzling Beef along with the crispy noodles and copious amounts of Chinese tea. Now I am extremely happy to see the Tai Tung featured on Zomato (way to go, guys!), I can browse their menu once more and plan my next visit, which is happening very soon!

Tai Tung is one of the best Chinese restaurants in South London. They serve up incredibly tasty Chinese food that is popular with both orientals and non-orientals alike.
The food is authentic and mouth-watering. I would recommend their Dim Sum at it is scrumptious. Tai Tung really is a hidden gem. The service is quick but unfriendly.
Its only major downside is that it is a little difficult to get to and it doesn't deliver (though you can collect food). However, if you can get there then it is really worth it.
